  • TENNESSEE SMALL BUSINESS: we're a small team specializing in high quality percussion instruments and mallets using the best materials possible; our wood shop is in Nashville, Tennessee, and your choice supports American jobs
  • WHY IT MATTERS: we don't just simply "source" products from overseas factories and put our logo on it; controlling design and production in-house lets us focus on first-class construction to make professional, highly intentional, long-lasting instruments
  • MADE IN U.S.A. FROM SOLID HARDWOOD: the Timber Drum Co. wood block is constructed from a solid piece of real Tennessee hardwood to give it an organic, warm and woody sound that plastic blocks can never fully replicate
  • SIZE: 8" L x 2.5" D x 1.8" H (large); creates the lowest pitch of all three sizes
  • WHAT'S IN THE BOX: includes 8" mallet with hard polymer head to produce a sharp, knocking attack note with plenty of volume; 4 rubber feet are also included in the package and are applied by using their adhesive side
  • ONE BIG THING: crafted from one solid piece of hardwood, this block is exceptionally durable and can withstand multiple uses from mallets and other percussion tools; our one-piece design delivers resonant, projecting tone
  • RECOMMENDED FOR: concert percussion, live musicals, school/community bands, live rocks bands, professional recordings or any other setting where you need an authentic, sharp wood block sound that can carry through other instruments
  • THE TAKEAWAY: buying this wood block supports an American company and Tennessee workers, and it's a solid choice for all-around use; for all ages and skill levels

I have nothing but good things to say about this made in the USA instrument. It came packaged great with information ℹ️ on how it's made and where the White Ash wood was locally sourced. I was Amazed at the wonderful tone it has. Very Happy Customer! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Love the sound of this wood block. It sounds just like any you'd hear in a professional symphony recording where the instrument is featured (Prokofiev's Symphony #5 comes to mind).

The sound is rich and full and just what I wanted. The small rubber "feet" add a little space between the box and the surface it sits on, so that the sound is sonorous and reverberant.

I bought this to use in my summer school class to to teach music, rhythm, and drumming. The sound of the wood block is louder and higher than the drums so all my students can hear it above the noise of 18 kids hitting the drums! I bet the 8-inch one would be even louder. It appears to be solid and well-made. There is a sweet-spot in the middle but you can also hit the top or bottom to make a different sound. Just make sure you hit the side with the writing, not the back.I love that it's made in USA.I also like that it's one solid piece-not pieces glued together.Highly recommend!

Looks nice, however there was little variation of tone. Not worth the price

Solid, well-made block. The sound is pretty good, not as rich of a tone as I would have liked, but it's good. The mallet is fairly hard plastic, it may sound better with a softer rubber mallet. Note that there is only one resonant chamber, not two-sided like most wood blocks. I'm Ok with that, it makes the base more solid. Mine is made of oak. I like that each item has the craftsman's name on the bottom!

This woodblock's build quality is excellent, with a beautiful finish. It has a nice, solid heft, weighing 12.4 oz (351 g). A mallet is provided, with a stick length of 7-1/2" and 1" diameter ball head, and according to an answered question, the head is made of hard rubber. Both block and mallet were packed snugly with paper inside a reusable, cylindrical, cardboard storage tube, packed inside an Amazon cardboard shipping box. With the provided mallet, I get a loud, clear and resonant sound. On this block, the sweet spot near the center edge resonates around E6 (2nd E above middle C), and I can get a higher pitch, around G#6, by striking near the left or right edge of the resonating channel.I'm quite happy with this instrument and am looking forward to incorporating it into upcoming performances.

Il suono non e' brutto, ma non risuona come altri analoghi che avevo sentito in giro. E' un po' secco e massiccio.
