Product description

Amazon.com Product Description A circular polarizer has the same effect as a polarizer and is used on cameras with beam- splitting metering systems commonly found on autofocus SLRs. Product Description Polarizing Filters Polarizers provide color and contrast enhancement. Reflected light often shows up as whitish glare that washes out color in an image. A Polarizer corrects this problem producing deep, dramatically blue skies. It also removes glare from non-metallic surfaces, such as windows and water. Color saturation in general, especially outdoors, can be improved significantly. A Circular Polarizer has the same effect as a Polarizer and is used on cameras with beam splitting metering systems commonly found on auto focus SLR's (for most 35mm auto-focus cameras see your camera manual). Area of sky most effectively polarized with a Circular Polarizer: Point your index finger at the sun. With your thumb extended at a right angle (90), rotate it around the axis of the index finger. It will point out the band of deepest blue from horizon to horizon.

this polarizer is awesome! it cuts down a lot of glare and makes skies look deeper with richer colors. the price is also great, especially for the quality. definitely recommend for real estate media, as long as your lens has filter threads! 📸

At the risk of frustrating my English teacher, this polarizing filter polarizes light. That's it. It works. If you need a polarizer at a decent price, this is it. I've trusted the Tiffen brand for my other camera filter needs.

Is a circular polarizer and works as designed. I use it for landscape pictures, mostly from my boat. Good price. I recommend it.

This lens filter is GREAT for my 18-135mm lens. I love having the polarizing filter to get some great water shots and to experiment with. The good thing about this filter is that it allows you to essentially adjust the polarizing on the fly. Once you get it screwed on the end, you can twist the ring bordering it to take different polarizing shots without having to constantly put it on and off.Tiffen has some GREAT filters, as I have a few other filters by them. Great quality and it doesn't feel cheap.

The filter arrived on time and has been used occasionally. All polarising filters are good for reducing reflections off water and leaves, but be careful about over using them with wide angle lenses. Skies become very uneven and ugly if the filter is set too far.

I have never owned one of these before so when I got it I looked through both sides, turned it all the way around, and didn't notice any difference. I concluded that I received a defective filter. One poster here suggested to look through it into a mirror. One way it should look clear and the other, dark. It did!.Another person on YouTube suggested the same thing, but instead looking at a computer monitor. Again, clear one way, dark the other. Finally I took it outside and tried it on automobile reflections. Without the filter there was a wide splotch of glare on the hood of the car and with the filter, the splotch was reduced to a tight circle about the size of the sun, so it does work. After all, it was a direct reflection of the sun.As for bluer sky's, I tried that and it made them bluer (I think?). It also made pronounced differences on the grass color which was easier to see. Anyway, I understand that how much difference this makes is determined by the angle of the light so I have some more testing to do.Anyway, at first, I was ready to send this back because I didn't know what to expect or how to test it. This is one case when ignorance is not bliss.I have to assume that a better filter will be better, but for the price difference, this seems to be a good filter with which to get your feet wet and perhaps will be all that many of us need.On the issue of whether the filter degrades the image...I have only taken a few pictures, but I cannot see any degradation what-so-ever. If fact, I see an improvement in shadows making everything seems a little more defined.
