While hunting on a friend's farm in another state, I lost my Vortex rangefinder. Needing a rangefinder quick, and not being made of money, I had just heard about this rangefinder.Being a fan of the brand, I took a chance on this rangefinder. So here's what I honestly think about it.Could the glass quality be better? Sure, but for the price it meets expectations, if not punches above it's weight class.Size: It's sure is small, but not in a bad way.Build: It's just feels solid in the hand. It feels robust enough to not have to baby it. Ive owned much more expensive rangefinders and felt I had to treat them like fine pieces of glass. It gives you the confidence it will hold up, for sure.Function: Two buttons, and they just work. You point it at something, you'll know the distance. It just works, and it works well. I enjoy how simple it is to be honest. Less things to go wrong.Battery: I love that this is rechargeable, it makes life a lot easier. I wasn't sure how it would hold battery, but I sure found out. The last week where I live it has been about -10 with -30 windchill. I remembered today that this rangefinder had been sitting in my garage since the week of Thanksgiving. It came charged, and I have never charged it. Thinking it would be dead, I turned it on. Full battery. Can't say much more than that.Overall, Ive been wildly impressed. You simply can't find better for this price. Maybe for even double the price. I'd buy this again 10 times over. You won't be upset if you buy it.

So happy with this so tiny tidewe range finder. I’ve watched lots of videos on this with no negative feedback, and I can second that. I’ve tested this against a Leica range finder, an element optics and I’m getting the same results. Very accurate and keeps up with the more expensive RF’s. The build quality is tough and durable due to the part aluminium/hard plastic body, feels good in the hand. The size is perfect and it’s all you need if you’re a shooter/hunter. It will work for golf but I’d say it’s mainly aimed at hunters/shooters. The belt case is nice, has a premium feel and magnetic closer. Wish there was a small hole to attach a lanyard but you can’t have everything. It’s rechargeable and the battery is good for 20,000 ranges! 100% recommend

Me sorprendió la calidad, muy preciso, lo comparé con un medidor laser Bosch y la distancia medida es bastante precisa, el único detalle es que no hay ranura para una correa.

Honestly I didnt have high expectations for this, was just buying an interim replacement for a name brand one that finally gave of the ghost. Saw a few youtube reviews on it and gave it a shot. After taking it out and getting consistent, accurate, and repeatable results out to about 620yds, I was thinking, ok cool. After playing around with it for about a week, I actually love it. It has all the features of much more expensive range finders, and its really compact and packable. Also, it doesnt feel cheaply made, it feels robust and of good quality. Glass is good, screen is pretty readable even in pacific nw gloom. Honestly, Im not in any hurry to replace it. It went from interim, to "okay lets run this til the wheels fall off and spend that money elsewhere". Great little unit at an excellent price.

This unit works really well and it's super fast. It replaces an older Bushnell that cost a lot more but technology has progressed in the past 15 years. Plus this new one is rechargeable, no messing with batteries and battery doors that can open.I love how small this is, it can measure actual distance taking angles into account, great for tree stands. Optical quality is good and for the price I think it is exceptional value.

Really like this range finder. It's small and compact which is great for saddle hunting. I just wish it had a place to connect a lanyard to avoid accidently dropping when in a tree. I ended up tying one around the charging area plug but this isn't a long term solution

So this is really my first range finder (if you don't count pacing off distances on foot). This is a handy tool to put in my pocket or hunting bag not only for deer, but for birds as well. I mostly bird hunt and there is always some question about what is 40 yards out, which is the max I like to take shots as to have clean kills, not cripples. This will be handy in the duck blind and the dove field. I purchased this for archery hunting, where being able to determine 20-30-40 yard sighting and effective shot placement is critical. This little gadget is spot on target. Excellent clarity with 6.5x magnification, easy to use, easy to read data. If you're reading this review to determine if this is a good product - the answer is: "Yes, it is". Highly recommend.

Having needed to set up a couple of shooting ranges and not wanting to deal with measuring tape - I picked one of these up after doing some research on budget-minded monocular rangefinders.Overall this is a useful 875 yard rangefinder that renders reasonably accurate measurements very quickly. This is basically a smaller version of the HR-F700 with somewhat better range. I mostly needed this for determining ranges between 10 to 100 yards, and the TideWe Mini 875Y didn't disappoint me in this capacity. But as far as I can tell, it also can measure fairly accurately at longer distances - I shot it at the treetops of a small mountain close by the house I was at that I know to be roughly 700 to 800 yards from the backyard I was standing in, and it reported 700 to 790 yards depending on where I had it pointed.Obviously getting pinpoint accuracy on a specific target at this range wouldn't be practical because of vegetation and tree branches getting in the way, but all the same it still gives a general idea of how far away something is at that distance.Within 200 yards or less, I found that this device was able to get measurements pretty quickly regardless of what it was aimed at (houses, barns, mailboxes, tree trunks, grass, cars of various colors and bushes, etc etc). Even at 700+ yards I found that this unit captured the distances pretty quickly anyway.Three modes on this device:1) Distance measuring: this is the mode that gives the line of sight distance, regardless of angle drop or rise. However you still get the the degree of angle you are viewing and how far in yards the target is above or below the rangerfinder's position.2) Vertical and Horizontal Distance measuring: This gives the line-of-sight distance but also gives the horizontal distance from the target. You also get the distance of the vertical rise or drop.3) Speed measuring: Does what it implies - measures the speed of a moving target in KM/H. Although all of these devices have pictures in the advertisements showing that you can measure the speed of a deer running at a 90 degree angle from you, this is NOT how radar/lidar guns work - you cannot get an accurate speed measurment from a perpindicular angle like that - you have to be at a more parrallel angle to get an accurate reading (45 degrees or less, if possible). I found as long as I was at a reasonable angle from a car or another moving object that I could get fairly accurate speed readings. All of these modes can take a single reading with a single press of the button or the button can be held down for continuous readings. I have found that for the best results, that one should run continuous scan and then release the button when you have your target centered as it will be much less likely to get pulled off target. This rangefinder is intended for hunting and shooting - so if you need a rangefinder for playing golf, this may not be your best choice; but I imagine it would still work in a pinch.Lastly, the display in the rangefinder is of the black LCD variety which means that if you are planning to use this in low lighting it's probably not going to be the best choice. If you generally are shooting or hunting during the day however - this will be fine. The diopter is pretty decent and probably will be able to render a clean sight picture for the vast majority of people. PLEASE NOTE however that the LCD display also employs the diopter to get properly focused (and this cannot be done independently) albeit in my case once I had a clear picture the LCD also was clean, so this should not be an issue for most people. I didn't seem to have the issue with the LCD being out of focus at long ranges that I have seen reported in another review of these rangefinders. One minor complaint I do have about this unit is the eye relief is very tight and until you get used to this, it is very easy to lose your sight picture. But for 65 bucks you cannot expect it to have the eye relief of a $300+ scope.Lastly, this comes with a nice little magnetic pouch (which is a good thing because there are no lenses caps).Pro's:Very compactEasy to UseUseful informationVery fast readingsGood build quality (made of aluminum)Pretty decent glass in lensesDecent carry pouchDecent battery lifeCons:Very limited eye reliefNot suitable for low lightingMay be too small for people with large hands (look at the HR-F700/1000 instead).Versus the HD-F700/1000:The buttons are not separated like they are on the HD-Fxxxx series - although I personally didn't find this to be of any issue. The two big differences are: 1) The Mini has a better build quality with an aluminum chassis; and 2) I find the way the information is laid out in the Mini to be superior to that of the HR-Fxxxx series. Instead of having information both above and below the reticle like in the HR-Fxxxx series, the Mini has all the information grouped below the reticle which I find to be much more organized, to say nothing of that you still have a clear view above the reticle.Otherwise, it's hard to go wrong with either the Mini or the HR-Fxxxx series - they both seem to perform well.Overall, I would recommend the TideWe Mini 875Y to someone looking for a good basic inexpensive (and accurate) rangefinder.
