Great pencils. The lead doesn't easily break. My son's school recommends them, and they're a great product, so I understand why. They write very well.

It may have just been a bad batch, but many of these appeared to have broken lead on the inside. When I sharpened them, many broke off when they shouldn't have. With that said, the lead worked great, as expected and so did the eraser!!

These Ticonderoga pencils are the gold standard for a reason. They write smoothly, erase cleanly, and the wood is easy to sharpen. The 24-count box is a great value, and I always have a supply on hand.

Have used pencils since 1st grade. Am a grandmother and still use pencils every day. I even have them in my purse.POSITIVE: The positive was that the 1st pencil I took out of the pack sharpened. The led was centered and the point did not break. A perfect sharpened pencil. I was able to write with it and the point did not break. The eraser erased. Great eraser. Very nice. It's what you expect a pencil to do. In the fine print on the back at the bottom says that it was made in China. NEGATIVE for me: NONE! They worked! They were easy to hold and felt like a pencil! So, I sharpened more. I’m not kidding. This is a pencil!Can’t figure out what all the hoopla was regarding manufacturing in China and Mexico. Maybe I was lucky. Maybe Ticonderoga got their act together. Unfortunately, there are only a few Ticonderoga pencils that have it marked on the front of the packaging that state that it was ‘Made in America’ or ‘Made in the US’. I’ve complained to Amazon’s management and will complain to Ticonderoga on Monday regarding the ‘pencil dispute’. I did not buy the Ticonderoga pencils I originally was going to buy because of all the hoopla.
