I was surprised at how large it is, but it works well for pouring honey and doesn’t needed to be refilled as often as a smaller version.

I buy Steen's cane syrup in a can, but the can is not practical as a serving container. This syrup dispenser is the answer: sturdy, pours easily, drips minimally, easy to wipe off, and it seals the product away from the air.

Would have given this more stars but the shipping took almost a month. Great use for sugar. Keeps it clean as oppose to using a sugar bowl.

Update2: I have used the second for months now, it had held up well. I have even dropped it from the top shelf and it did not break. So I'm very happy with it.Update1: use caution when cleaning a stuck lid. Refilled twice with no problems, but third time the lid was glued shut from the syrup. I put it in hot water and then tried to unscrew, and like another reviewer stated, the top sheared apart and I cut my hand. The only reason I still leave 3 stars is that I really like this item and I feel that I may have shocked the glass by using really hot water when it was just out of the fridge. I have another one to replace it, I'll keep you posted.***Original review***First feel:-The glass and lid feel heavy in the hand in a nice way.-The spring back mechanism is strong (which is good to me, but may be a concern for some with weak hands)-The bulb shape gives it a wider footprint in the fridge but at the same time lowers the center of gravity making it less tippy.-Use:-The white gasket prevents leaks from the glass/metal interface.-When you stop the flow mid stream during pouring (which you are supposed to do) there will always be a small drop at the mouth. You will have to wipe that drop before putting back in the fridge.People have complained that the flow for honey is very slow. I am currently using it for pure maple syrup kept in the fridge and I can say that for this purpose the flow is very fast.

The top piece is made of plastic! It's not metal or "cast zinc," which sounds so strong and "metal-like." The top piece is made of plastic, only the lever is metal-like. Sounds very deceptive - the name of the product. But, most importantly, this unit does NOT have a straw/draw to let the air in while dispensing liquids. If you are dispensing honey - forget about it - it will take you good 10 minutes to dispense a few table spoons worth. We only ordered it because of "good" reviews. The truth be told - we have to get rid of this and will be a donation candidate to Goodwill. Too frustrated to use it. Waste of $15 we paid for it.Hint: if you are seeking a good dispenser - find one with straw built in it - to let the air in while dispensing.One-star calls product "hated it," yet we do not hate anything or anyone, this product did end-up being a WASTE.

I have been buying honey and maple syrup in bulk for quite sometime from local farms. I have been trying to find a dispenser for honey that didnt require me to dip a knife or spoon into it. Honey will keep forever unless you contaminate it with foreign matter (especially matter that has water in it). I tried a bamboo dipper in a glass jar which i really liked a lot but was frustrated with how patient I had to be to get the honey off the dripper without actually touching the dipper on the toast or side of a cup or anything. I am very careful not to contaminate my honey. I wanted something that would still be relatively utensil free, glass, but give me a bit added speed with honey which is already slow by nature.I was hesitant to buy this product because of all the negative reviews about leaking. I use this on a daily basis and this hasnt leaked on me one time using either the honey or the maple syrup. My maple syrup comes in one gallon glass jars which is a bit bulky to add to the table at breakfast time so I wanted a smaller dispenser. So now I can bring the honey in one jar and the maple syrup in the other jar.The major trick to these is to hand tighten the lid down to a firm fit without over cranking. And the second trick to prevent dripping down the side of it, is to cut the pouring with the lever before you raise back up vertically. If you cut the pour with the lever it wont get on the side of the jar. If you just lift it back up while pouring it will dribble down the side of the jar.

I wanted a glass jar, because I want to be able to heat it up if / when the honey crystallizes. (I don't like the idea of heating plastic up, because of the health concerns.) This product works exactly as intended. It has a solid, comfortable feel, and looks nice with honey in it. I may get a second one for syrup, simply because I like the way the jar looks. I think most people are familiar with how these work, but if not: No, it does not leak; when you release the trigger, you *will* get some tiny amount of residue on the lip. That is normal for these kinds of dispensers. I just wipe it off with my finger. As another reviewer stated, if you release the trigger before lifting the dispenser back upright, this will eliminate almost any "drippage." Enjoy!

Great quality thick glass for dishwasher.Well designed lid and "cut of spout" for honey dispenser.Seal is flimsy and has a "lip", but we discovered (we think)that the seal should be placed over the glass prior to screwing the lid on. It would be helpful to have some guidance fromthe manufacturer on this.Wondered how to get replacement seals, and if a simple "o" ring would work.Could not find a link for the manufacturer to purchase new seals.Suggest you purchase two so you can use a clean lid and seal to expedite when you need to change. Also stand in something if a leak does occur.I really liked this product, and would still recommend it. Honey is a tricky thing!!!
