This is a great transport solution, however, before you pack the bike, take a #2 Phillips screwdriver and ensure the screws holding the bike bracket and luggage wheels are torqued down. Mine were not. I did not, of course, think to check. There was so much movement of the bracket, the front fork broke loose during transit but there was no noticeable damage to the bike. Some of the screws took 6 - 8 turns. One is stripped. Aside from that, a fine product.

This was my very first use of the bike box and the top handle fell off before I reached the airport. The second handle fell off during transit. This left me with 1 handle to try and load upon arrival. Very disappointed. Bought because of the good reputation of Thule products but did not live up to reasonable expectations.

I flew my bike with it twice and it arrived with no damage. The bag is excellent, and can fit not just your bike but clothes, helmet, protection gear.It is excellent, but you need to consider several things when considering this bag vs soft bags. I am not taking any stars off for its drawbacks, just make sure it will work for you, when it does its perfect.1) bike fit: I have a large trail mountain bike (pivot switchblade 2020 for size reference) and I had to take off the derailleur off and zip tie it to the frame, else the bike was too long to fit. An xl or longer bike may not fit so measure to be sure.2) weight - bike and bag will weigh over 50lbs, unless your bike is under 30 lbs with pedals. However if you keep it under 100lbs it's going to be fine for most US domestic airlines, and southwest for example charges 75 dollars bike fee regardless of weight. Some soft bags weigh less but your airline costs will still be 75 bucks. You can load up more things in there like clothes, helmets etc I had mine weighing north of 75lbs and it was fine3) size is quite large you cannot fit it in an suv standing up, it will need to lay on its side, and most 2 row suvs will need to drop both back seats to fit it. That means only driver and one passenger can ride in the suv, and if there are more in your party, get an additional vehicle. You cannot fit it in a sedan. Also, even when the bag is empty, when you arrive at your destination and take the bike out, it still takes a lot of space, so transportation from the airport will also be a challenge. I couple not fid the empty bag in a midsized suv (huyndai Santa fe) without dropping both back seats.4) storing the bag at home: you need to have a garage with space for it. Soft bags can fold and be store in a closet, this one is just big and you will need to find a spot for it.5) transporting in the airport - it's pretty easy since it has wheel, however, loading and unloading from vehicles does require two people in most cases. It has handles on back, front and top.6) you only need to take off wheels and handle bar, and you need to buy some velco ties and maybe some foam to pad things up and secure the handle bar to the side of the bike frame. I do not use the full stand that came with it, but the locking bar that holds the bike can be placed on the ground and if you are careful it will not tip over.7) the case does not support boost forks without and adapter! If your fork is 110mm,then you need an adapter in order to secure the mount so it won't move left and right. It does support various axle diameters but the width adapter is not included.8) this case can pair perfectly with sea suckers bike carrier - the sea sucker can fit in the case, you can velcro tie it to the bike carrier locking assembly and it fits in the bag easily. When you arrive to your destination you can transport your bike on the roof of any car no extra bike rack needed. In summary, you can fit a lot more than the bike in this case, but transporting the case and storing it needs some planning.

I've had this case for more than a year and traveled all over the world with my TT bike. For triathlon, this is the best case I've ever used. There's three reasons for this: (1) your TT bike will fit without much disassembly and be stable no matter how airport agents throw it around, (2) the integrated bike stand will make re-assembling the bike in your hotel room *much* less stressful, (3) the easy to open case will make it easy for even the most idiotic TSA agents to open and close it without damaging anything. For bikes other than a triathlon bike, I'm not sure I'd go with this case. The reasons are the ones others have stated - its heavy and a bit bigger than other cases. This makes it a hassle sometimes when airlines can't figure out how to charge it, and it won't fit in a standard taxi (but, then again, neither will many other cases). But if you're a triathlete and you're traveling with your triathlon bike, this is hands down the best case. It will get your bike to your race safely and even help you to reassemble it. There's other small problems (e.g. the pull strap is a little too tight), but overall, this is the best case I've ever used and I can't recommend it enough.

I must say that I received the suitcase with the satisfaction of having a high quality product to protect my Mountain bike. After reading instructions and watching videos on youtube, I was even more excited when I notice how easy it is to use and how strong it is to protect.I went to my flight Avianca VA521 scheduled at 1:30 am departing from Los Angeles, CA and destination to El Salvador, Central America. The uggly news was upon checking in luggage counter, the suitcase thule round trip 100502 does not satisfy with the regulations of the airline to travel with me. The airline clarify me that weight was not a problem. The real problem was the dimensions, because their exceed the standard of 90 linear inches for recreational and sports equipment like is the bicycle. The airline offered me the option to use the package cargo, the suitcase does not traveling with me and they not warranted that the package arrives same day that I do. And it's not a risk I want to take. That day I lost my flight, go back home to pack it in a cardboard box, then again return at LAX airport and paying extra charges for re programming. On the other hand I took the cardboard box with my bike at no extra charge, for satisfy the dimensions of the airline. The product is very good, but is only a useless object. I come to return it and be very disappointed by the product
