We had the same issue as many other reviewers. I followed the instructions in the manual and watched multiple YouTube videos. I tested chains days before our trip on our local street. When installing, I pulled hard to ensure it was locked on the lug. I stopped after 100 feet, 1/4 mile, and 1-mile markers to check. They were locked in place. After 3 miles at 25 mph, I noticed a distinct change in the sound of the road. I pulled over, and they were gone. In addition, it punctured one of my tires. We waited 90 minutes for a tow truck and spent the night near the service facility, awaiting a new tire. Not messing with chains in the future. I'm getting snow tires.

only writing this because of the posts of "chains flying of the wheel". If you don't first adjust the size of the chains to the size of your tire, its not going to fit properly. I have the K44, and it requires you to remove two "link screws" to increase the chain size to fit my tire. This is not something you want nor are thinking about to do while in the snow in freezing whether while pulled over to the side of the road.So if you buy this system, open the box, check your tire size and adjust if needed and then put it back in the bag and put it in your trunk.Only thing is these are REALLY expensive.......but ease of use in freezing whether is worth it.

These are expensive but once you’ve tried them a few times they’re easy to install. Seem to be very durable and show no wear after 100 miles of snow use. So much better than rolling around in the slush trying to install traditional chains. Get a Thule dealer to set them up for your tire size. That part is not obvious

There’s nothing on the product page that says this, but it is on the outside of the box (see photo)…The chains definitely did not fit around my 245/45 r19 (a specified size) Michelin Pilot Sport AS 4 tires.

These are ok but I am a bit disappointed. I have had a similar snow chain for less that was far easier to install. Fell they could do better for the price but will still get the job done. Just don’t lose the tool it comes with or you will be in a world of hurst. Other brands with similar designs do not require tools to install.

Having purchased several sets over the years, these are the ONLY ones I trust not to cause damage to various 2WD, AWD, 4WD vehicles requiring ZERO CLEARANCE.Once adjusted and mounted PROPERLY, they work like a charm. On and off in minutes. Most negative reviews are likely the result of improper sizing, adjusting, mounting, and use. Here are a few tips:•ONLY FOLLOW KONIG/THULE MANUAL•THIRD-PARTY YOUTUBE CLIPS MISLEADING•BE SURE TO REMOVE ANY LUG NUT COVERS•BE SURE TO SIZE AND FIT PROPERLY•BE SURE TO REMOVE ICE FROM LUG NUT•CHECK FIT AFTER A SHORT DISTANCE•NEVER USE ON DRY ROAD OR SURFACE•NEVER, EVER EXCEED 25-30 MPH•NOT INTENDED FOR OFF-ROAD USE•NOT DESIGNED AS FULL TIME/HEAVY DUTY•ALWAYS RINSE AND LET DRY AFTER USE•INSPECT FREQUENTLY FOR WEAR•MOUNT ON FRONT WHEELS ONLY•ATTACH, REMOVE, ATTACH AS NEEDED•DO NOT ADOPT TRACTOR PULL MINDSET•IN EXTREME CASES EVEN ONE WILL HELP•PLASTIC SHELL KNEE PADS ARE HELPFUL•LAST, BUT NOT LEAST, THE VERIFIED AND REAL REASON THAT MANY ZERO CLEARANCE VEHICLE MANUALS DO NOT RECOMMEND CHAINS SUCH AS THESE IN THE U.S. (AS OPPOSED TO THE SAME VEHICLE MARKETED ELSEWHERE), HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE CLEVER DESIGN OF THESE SUPERB TRACTION-ENHANCING AND NON-WRAP-AROUND CHAINS. THE SIMPLE FACT IS THAT MOST U.S. DRIVERS DO NOT FOLLOW SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS AND WILL ATTEMPT TO PLAY KING OF THE ROAD - WITH ROAD RAGE - IN HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS AS IF THEY WERE RAMBO RUNNING THE INDY 500 IN A MILITARY HUMVEE AT BREAK-NECK SPEEDS. IF YOU CAN RELATE TO THAT, THEN YOU UNDERSTAND WHY NO VEHICLE OR CHAIN MANUFACTURER WANTS TO DEAL WITH YOU. IF NOT, GO FOR IT. AND KEEP IN MIND THAT YOU ARE PAYING FOR THE ULTIMATE IN CONVENIENCE IF USED PROPERLY.

These are fantastic. They are so easy to put onto the tyres, they don’t mark the alloys wheels and they give you incredible grip and control (both uphill and downhill) on snow and ice. They aren’t cheap but in this case you definitely do get what you pay for. Saying that, they’re probably cheaper than the cost of most people’s insurance excess and they provide you and your loved ones with safe winter mobility.I wouldn’t be without them, I’ve never been more relaxed driving on snow and ice 👍👍👍👍👍They also come in a very good quality carry case for easy storage.I have seen a video on YouTube (posted by a pair of simpletons! 🙄) demonstrating how difficult it is to fit these......... You HAVE to read the instructions first and size them to your tyre size. I had to remove three of the yellow sizing bolts to fit my tyres. The most you’ll have to remove is four, you may not need to remove any.Give yourself around fifteen minutes to read/understand the sizing instructions and a minute or so to remove each sizing bolt. Once you’ve done this it only takes a few minutes per wheel to put them on or take them off.I’ve only used them for one winter so I can’t discuss their longevity but they do feel incredibly well made and I’m sure they will provide me with safe winter driving for many years to come.Highly recommend.

Pretty simple to use and quick to put on. My biggest issue is that the connecting piece that goes on top of the lug nut would get stuck and would be hard to pull off. You can see wear on the metal connecting pieces, which makes me worried on how long they will last. Also be careful not to twist the chain at all when you put it on, makes for a not so fun time trying to work it off later. Overall though the chains are worth the money and did a good job of keeping the car under control on a steep gravel driveway. Only time the car slipped going downhill with chains on was once when the snow was really slushy and the other time there was high accumulation of snowfall.

Perfect fit and very easy to mount (read instructions and practice at home). These chains sits really tight when mounted. Used them during four days in Sölden (Austria). Drove about 2,5 miles up and down to the glacier with summer tires (due to German rules about spike tires that forced me to use summer tires for this trip). Really good grip and the car behaved very well. Easy to detach after usage. So much better than cheaper solutions. The chains have both links and ice breakers that really gives solid grip. I was a bit unsure of the plastic details but they seem to be in good conditions after one week of usage on both asphalt and ice/snow. 90% asphalt due to really good road mainatance. The only weak detail so far is the bag. Zippers are not the highest quality. Be careful when you close the bag after usage

Having bought much cheaper snow chains in the past and struggling to get them on in bad weather (without practicing at home first) and then them breaking on first outing I was determined to get something better. The key issue I faced was low wheel arches and big wheels. Traditional snow chains have to be fixed behind the wheel. With my car these means laying on the ground under the car! No fun in freezing snowy conditions, usually in slush.Although not cheap these are execellent chains which are very straightforward to put on. These chains are a fixed and secured from the outside. Reverse a little, check they are secure and off you go. Demonstrated most recently in the Alpes where everyone was stopping to put chains on. Motorways were closed and everyone was taking to the minor roads. Many people were visibly struggling on the side of the road to put on traditional snow chains ... we saled past after a short stop to put ours on. I was also pleasantly surprised that after driving on a clear road before we could stop to take the chains off, there was no visible wear or damage to them. So highly recommended.
