We've got a 1995 Ram 3500 12 Valve for towing our 5th Wheel Toy Hauler.Awesome truck, tows great, although as it's going on 30 years old some stuff is past it's prime, and the OEM version of this that connects the pedal to the injector pump's ends had finally failed, at the absolute worst time and worst place imaginable (in the middle of a construction zone on the interstate, where both lanes get squished into 1 on an uphill incline).IT took a very expensive two job and two days of downtime stranded a state away from home to get back on the road, and THAT was having the luxury of a Cummins parts distirbuter local. Not wanting to relive that nightmare ever again I picked this up as a "keep in the RV as an installed hot spare".However it's not exactly the same as the Cummin's OEM variety it purport's to replace. The Cummins ends (from the replaced unit) shown (the black ones) have a nylon insert in the "socket" end that acts as both a a retainer and a bearing surface. You "pop" the socket on the ball ends at the pedal and injector pump side and the nylon gives enough to seat the ball and then holds it in place (until after 25 years or so it finally wears out as ours did). This is a markedly different design in that the socket part has no nylon insert, instead there's a cut wire ring seated into a groove in the "ball" that kind of keeps it in place, and a separate formed spring wire "clip" that has a straight leg that threads through a couple holes in the ball across the chord of the ball that you slide in and then swivel around the cylindrical length of the connector to lock that clip in place and thus also lock the ball captive in the socket. There is no actual bearing surface like the OEM flavor, and they have this little rubber boot thing that is intended to keep dust and grime out of the socket. It's probably sufficient as where this thing lives isn't exactly subject to a great deal of road dust. However what gives me a bit of pause is they supply the Ball ends as well, which more or less implies you need to remove the pedal and pump attachment points to install this.It "MIGHT" work with the OEM balls, and if so that would simplify things markedly. My main reservation is just due to the very tight quarters where the ends need to be attached, which might make getting the little wire clip in and properly swiveled around the cylinder portion of the fitting difficult to do.Hopefully the recently replaced OEM ends of this will last as long as the first set did and we'll never have to find out, but just in case we'll have this in the back pocket as it were if the newly replaced OEM ends go out again and this could then save a very expensive tow job and subsequent parts chase in the middle of nowhere.I did note one of the other reviewers said it did work, but didn't go into the relative difficulty of getting it installed, so that's still unknown.

My p pump linkage popped off going down the highway because of OEM ball and socket design. This linkage is built better, with the lock nut swivel ends.
