I really like the infeld reds and blues on my violin- they both have great projection and a nice complex tone. I ordered a set from this seller and only received one string instead of a set. I assumed it was a mistake, so I re-ordered it and again only received one string. When I contacted Thomastik they told me they do not sell on amazon, so I don't know where these strings are coming from or if they're even genuine. BUY FROM AN AUTHORIZED SELLER.

This string set is excellent it greatly improved the sound quality of my instrument, however the A string started wearing away after 1 week

I've been going between the Infeld Blues and Reds with my 1800 German violin. It's a typically bright violin so I try to compliment it with bolder strings. When I was playing in my school orchestra, I used the warmer Reds for blending. I'm currently teaching and practicing on my own, the Blues have made that much more engaging and exciting for me.I recommend these (or the Reds!) if you want a more specific profile than Dominants but also don't want to spend over $70 on strings. Think of these as side-grades from Dominants.

Delivered on the expected date at the anticipated time! Packaging was completely intact, no bends or breaks. The strings themselves were new as advertised, no worries there. None of them were false, so yay!Easy to adjust and tune up, and I love these strings because they settle in, in just a few days to a week of practice. They have a warm sound but enough projection and some brilliance on the A and E that really helps to round out the depth of my violin and really aids it to sing on the higher register. Honestly, these are my favorite strings because they compliment and improve the sounds my instrument produces, plus I've found they settle in quickly -- and these last a good, long while. I only replace my strings twice in a year which is less frequent than most violinists do, I think...Anyways, these were good, none were false, packaging was good, delivery speed was good, they're just as I expected and hoped for.

Great strings that last long time. On the bright side of sound. My new favourite. This was my second set and I will go back to it. All violins demand different sets and string combination but I have to say T-I IB100 fits it almost perfect to my taste. Between affordability, sound quality and easiness of sound production, definite 5 stars.

I found the A, D & G of this set - ABSOLUTELY awesome... but I don't like the E string - as I find it whistles. Had to order an additional E that is wound... from another brand. IF INFELD made this set with a wound E... I'd never buy another set of strings other than this - ever again! The A, D & G are warm sounding and long lasting. I just hated the screaming, whistling E string... which I could handle, but after putting this set of strings on a few of my fiddle student's violins... they agreed this set is great... except for the whistling, screaming E. If Infeld can make a "BLUE" set - with a wound E ... you'll have my money... and my students will follow. More durable and long lasting than Spirocore... but Spirocore has a better E. A GREAT item... except for that whistling E.

I've experimented with strings for over 30 years and these are the best. The Thomastik IB100 Infeld Blue Violin Set offers the best for me. They are strong, durable strings, but also 'soft' precision made and give a luxurious tone to prove the maker knows exactly what they are doing based on generations of experience. The only thing I wonder about is the coloring of the packaging, you would think that blue would indicate a deeper tone while red would signify at brighter tone... but the packaging aside (I'm a graphic artist) the strings are what matters, just be sure to read so you get exactly what you want. The 'blue' are supposed to be the brighter tone, but I am attracted to a warmer tone also and am pleased to say that the blue delivers both 'presence' of the 'warmer tone' as well as the brilliance and clarity of a brighter string. Compared to the red, it is my opinion after playing both, the blue is the most 'lifelike' violin sound. The blue strings even make my inexpensive China-made violin come to life and sound like a much more expensive violin.

These are good strings. We purchased a nice used Romanian violin. It had cheap strings and frankly made everyone want to run away into the next room when played. With these strings the violin sounds very expensive. Nice harmonics, not at all harsh. Tends to 'calm' an otherwise vibrant (shrill) violin into sounding older and more mellow. I'm not sure how it will work with those REALLY cheap Asian imports ... but with a decent European-made violin, it seems to take it up a notch.
