The 8 and 16 VAC taps are rated 10 VA. Only the 24 VAC tap is rated 20 VA. Not noted in the description is this unit is not recommended for attic use. In my area most furnace and AC control units are in the attic. The thermostat wiring is to the attic. Will see if this unit survives the summer. Measured output voltage at room temperature loaded with a security doorbell is about 27.3 VAC.

My Ring Video Doorbell Pro died so I was able to determine the 20 yr. old (different brand) transformer I had was dead. I looked for a replacement that would work with the Ring Pro and saw some reviews on this product that said it was working well. I installed the new transformer several weeks ago and it's working great. I set it up at 24 volts but it was reading 28 volts. So far that hasn't been a problem with the Ring and the Ring phone app reads the voltage as Very Good. This has proved to be a good product for my purpose at a good price.

The product was easy to install and worked great with my Ring Video Doorbell pro. 6 months later, it crapped out. The seller referred us back to Amazon who were nice enough to give us a refund. We bought another one and it didn't work right out the box. It gets 120V power going in but does not produce anything going out. I am now troubleshooting my wiring between the transformer and the Ring. In the meantime, we ordered another one and will give you an update on that in a day or two....

Update - My Ring Pro issues were NOT transformer related - they were Ring Pro related. My Ring camera was running SUPER hot (145 degrees) and it kept cutting out. i got the Ring fixed and it had NOTHING to do with the transformer which I put back into servise this past week and it's working perfectly.Original review -Well built doorbell transformer that works with Ring video for a "doorbell free" installation. It's worked fine at two locations for almost a year. Now, at one location, the Ring video pro keeps freezing. Not sure why - done the reset, the wifi signal is fine (FiOS 150/150 with a repeater within 15 feet between the FiOS modem and the Ring).I checked the voltage output with a Fluke meter and it's showing 28V AC from the 24V AC terminals. Not sure if that could be popping the Ring camera into "freeze" mode. I have to call them and check.Take home message is to check the voltage output when this transformer first arrives and be sure it's putting out the required voltage.

I bought this for my ring pro doorbell. Worked fine and in less than 1 month it died. Looking for a new brand now.

I bought a Ring.com doorbell (the regular version not the pro) in March. I installed it at my moms and came to discover the doorbell wires were dead and with it being winter in Chicagoland, I had to keep recharging the ring.com bell nearly every day due to the cold.Anyway, by March I had enough, bought this transformer, got into the crawl space and replaced it (this runs 3 doorbells, but we don't use the other 2 doors).Sadly, last week I noticed the camera was dead and apparently the transformer burned out (hardwired is great but at least the weather is warm so the battery doesn't drain as fast as in winter).Ring says you need a resister if you don't have another doorbell hooked up but I guess the resister is needed regardless so with my next attempt I'll buy the resister too that they say you need if you don't have any regular bells on the circuit and see what happens).I did get 5 months of not having to recharge it which was real nice, especially in the winter as my screw driver blades are bending from removing it often.

I bought and never actually installed this product. I'm sure it works fine and it looks like a good piece of equipment.
