Got this kit for my brother-in-law and he thought it was great. I did not understand the tools included at all, as I don't fish, but he seemed really excited to have them. The bag itself is really well made and comfortable to wear. Being a sling bag, it can easily swing around from the back to the front to access the tools when needed while fishing.

If you love to fish, you have different sets of tackle for different types of fishing. The nice thing about this kit is that it can be used for both freshwater and salt water, trout to bass to triple tail. Trout fishing usually involves wading or hiking along a stream, and you need to carry everything with you as you move. Lots of branches and brush to get through from pool to pool, it's nice to travel compactly, and that's what this bag is good at. It contains an assortment of versatile tools to dehook, weigh and handle your catch. What is specific to your type of fishing and the area you fish will have to be provided by you. There isn't enough room in here to carry much extra gear, trout flies are small and will fit, more than that and you'll struggle for adequate space, or more realistically, need another bag for lures and stringer. That's not so bad, as lake fishing and ocean fishing often involve staying put for long periods. This is a decent quality bag, the tools are okay and if you wear something out you will know more about what to get. It's a good value for what is included, and once you've gotten the hang of using it all you'll be a better fisherman. If you're looking for a gift for the avid fisherman, don't buy this, as they probably know what they need and have the basics covered. For the rest of us hacks, this is not a bad concept and would make a good gift.

So we are not professional fisherman - but my husband and sons love to surf fish in the summers so I wanted to add to their supplies. (They also spread WAY out from each other down the beach, so thought it would be nice if my teens could have their own small pack with supplies so as not to have to run down the beach to get assistance or a needed tool).This is small pack (not meant to be a full backpack, meant to be worn sling-style or supplemental).Love the camo look.Enough room in it to add a couple of additional supplies, and sling on their surf chair.Makes a fun gift for your newbie fisherman. Did take 3 weeks to arrive, so keep delivery time in mind when ordering.

This is great for taking kids or grandkids fishing. Or even just going for a few hours trip. This isn't really for the serious fisherman that needs a whole assortment of hooks, lures, .... The bag is only about 17" high. But nice that it includes a scale which is really great for kids to get excited about their "big catch". If you don't require lots of fancy equipment and just want the basics to go hike out to a stream or just want a small fishing pack for when you go camping and want to catch your meal, this works great.

This is a nice bag but it is smaller than I thought. The tools seem to be pretty good quality and they all fit in the bag. I was able to get a small box of hooks, lures, and sinkers in there as well as a larger multi-tool. This filled up the main cavity and then both the front pockets.There are other side pockets or mesh holders for small water bottles and with a carabiner, you could attach this to a larger backpack.The material is good quality and the zippers all work smoothly. Only reason for 4 stars is the small size.
