Those bits worked well for my little project.I don't know if they are durable. It is VERY convenient to have an all in one tap drill bit rather than having to figure out the right drill bit size, having a tap kit and figuring out the right tap size and doing it manually (which I have never done but howto videos clearly put this type of tasks in the camp of the shop metal workers which I am not).

I've used some brand name versions of these bits that get through hundreds of drilling and tapping operations. This set breaks easily. Total waste of money.

I worked at a machine shop. I used taps, but this drill/ worked great to make holes and also tap metal

Pretty much same quality as harbor freight. Was hoping for something at least a little longer lasting but the 1/4-20 broke on the second hole I was using it on. It was a metal door and I couldn’t move my hole. Went nice and easy too, not drilling full speed. Had to start the hole with a smaller drill bit also so even the drill tips aren’t the best.

I've used these several times and they really do a great job of cutting new threads quickly and cleanly. The resulting threads are smooth and clean.Using them effectively needs some care and experience. You've got to figure out the best speed for drill for one thing. Too slow will cause it to bind and too fast can cause you to loose control of the tapping process. If you've got a shallow hole then you have to make sure you stop cutting soon enough to reverse drill and back out the tap. If you don't then you risk ruining the threads as you back the tap out of hole.Make sure to use sufficient cutting oil.I've broken several so far but that's because I am not doing the process right or using due care while tapping. I've used all sizes and they all tap well. With the smaller sizes you must make sure to do tap in one motion. If you stop before it is fully tapped you can easily break the tap when you start again to either tap further or back the tap out.I recommend this product based on personal use.

Useful set to have at hand. Use caution when using on hardened metal, go easy and slow or bit may brake.Bits work perfectly, de-burring may have to be done by hand. Practice using slightly larger drillbit for the pilot hole, this seems to help a great deal.

Pèser un tuyau 1/8 ne coupe pas assez

I buy the cheaper drill/taps because they are prone to break with a power drill. To mitigate early demise, I often pre-drill with a standard drill bit to lessen the likely hood of breaking the Drill/Tap bit that cost more than drill bits. This extra step is not as necessary if drill/tapping metal 1/8" or thinner. The case is just ok, but the bit holder material is a little too soft to hold the bits when the case is knocked around in a tool bag. I often open the case to see a few bits loosely floating about.
