We don't have an upstairs bathroom, the wife and I are older now and due to medication, my wife generally needs to use the bathroom once or twice during the night hours. She was using a potti chair, however, I was getting really nervous about her carrying the plastic bowl down the stairs to empty it out.So I decided to bite the bullet and get an upstairs bathroom installed, got two appraisals done by two different companies, one for $16,000 and the other for $18,500!! The wife and I are in our upper 60's now and I wasn't crazy about spending that kind of money so I did a little homework looking for a better portable solution.I found this Porta Potti and I must say its da chit chit!! As a bonus you can take it camping or tailgating as well!! Was telling my younger brother about it, he and his wife bought one and took it tailgating for emergency use....they actually set it on the rearview seat of their SUV and his wife was able to use it without anyone else the wiser!

Thetford is considered top of the line in portable camping toilets, whether stand-alone, or installed in an RV. Good quality; well-cared for, should last for many years. The price is well worth it.Great to have tent camping, compared to a middle-of-the-night run in the dark to the nearest facility. It also has come in handy in my RV for a winter trip. The RV had to be winterized, but a group of 13 people wanted the convenience of a toilet while driving cross-country during the winter, in “the middle of nowhere.” Adding this portapotty to an RV was a reasonable solution for them and worked out well. It would have been cheaper to buy the portapotty, and a pop-up tent—and that’s another viable option for hardier folk.

I bought the 345 model to use while Van camping. It’s easy use and easy to empty. I love that it flushes. The bottom tank is the waste tank which is 3 gallons and the top the clean tank is 4 gallons. Which in my option is the one flaw. The bottom tank should have been 4-gallons and the top tank 1 gallon. It has a monitor to tell you when the waste tank is full. Depending on the # of people using it and how often you flush will determine How often do you have to empty it. I found that when you flush enough water comes out to rinse the toilet well after use. Which is why I only add 1-gallon of water in the clean tank and I won’t have to empty the toilet every day. It should last two days without emptying when used by two people. You can put toilet paper in the toilet but it does make is harder to empty because it tends to stick to the inside of the tank. You can keep a small trash can to put the used paper in and dispose of correctly. It just makes it easier on the person emptying the waste container. When you’re emptying the waste tank you have to take off the top Clean water tank. Since I only put 1 gallon in its not that heavy. The 3gallon waste tank is heavy for me to empty when all the way full but not my hubby. One more thing…. I do add a half of a Porta-Pak pod to the waste tank so that it does not smell bad when emptying the tank. It’s a powder so I cut the corner off and pour it into the tank and save the rest in a ziploc bag. Overall I give this a 4 ⭐️‘s I just don’t like that the top tank is Larger than the bottom.

Use this Porta Potti in my camper van for #1/liquids only. Easy to use, clean and empty. No odor. I use a squirt bottle to rinse rather than the flush so it doesn’t fill up too quickly. Love the color and modern look. It is a great compact size though low to the ground if you have bad knees. Plastic seems very durable and looks good - does not stain or scratch. Highly recommended.

We needed a toilet for Burning Man and wanted something a little better than a five gallon bucket with a seat. This worked out better than expected. It was clean and easy to use, and the chemicals provided worked great with controlling odor. I was a little hesitant to transport the used toilet in my vehicle but it worked wonderfully and didn't have any issues during the long drive back to civilization. I highly recommend this camp toilet and plan on bringing it with our camp even after porta potties return to the playa.

Compact, well made, easy to use and maintain.No leaks, no smells.Work outdoors and am using it inside a mini-SUV while at work. A savior during the pandemic, when publicly accessible washrooms are very scarce.

We did it! We hit 5 national parks in 2 weeks in our trip around the country during the pandemic. We used this in campsites, parking lots, road-side stops, etc. When we needed it, we used it in conjunction with a greenegg pop-up tent.I put it in last, and when my family had to go..we went. I found that if I waited till it was full, it was easier to dump. As much as I hated dealing with the extra hassle of this act, it was incredibly convenient. There were no smells, it did not leak, it worked great. ** Especially on the border of Colorado and Wyoming...where there was nothing but sagebrush.

We really were amazed and delighted by this little chemical toilet. We used it for highway rest stops for two weeks. Super easy to use, works as advertised and with the chemicals was odor-free while using. Not so much when finally emptying it unfortunately, but not surprising. Very comfortable to sit on and easy to lift in and out of our car trunk. By adding a little pop up nylon tent enclosure we could pull off the highway anywhere and make ourselves comfortable without ever having to use a public restroom. It made our drives between Texas and New Mexico that much less worrisome during this current pandemic time. I have recommended it to friends.
