There is nothing not to like about this. Don’t waste your time replacing individual seals, instead get the entire base that with the exception of one valve that connects to the porcelain upper every seal and mechanism will be new by replacing with this product. Very quick and easy to install and everything seems to be OEM quality, including the hardware, which is all brass. Everything functions like new. It now holds water in the bowl and flushing operation is smooth. Even if you have limited or no plumbing experience, don’t hesitate to tackle this project. Clear instructions and very simple to do. I have two of these toilets in my RV and have already ordered the other base to replace. Besides cleaning it’s a 15 minute job.

The foot flusher broke off the RV toilet. After watching YouTube videos we decided to go this route and so glad we did. All said and done in 30 mins.

If you are finding that you are going through seals in your RV toilet bowl rather quickly, it is because the ball that opens and closes to drain the bowl is probably worn out. You can get a new ball kit for $30.00 and don't forget to get the parts for the pedal and other workings for a lot more. ORRR...you can buy this for $80.00. Every part for the bowl and flushing is here and assembled. No brainer. If you watch videos on the install, don't forget that these guys have done this over and over for the video so it looks easy as pie. Take plenty of scrap towels. The water inlet to the bowl will leak like crazy even though you have the water off. Surround the blue pipe at the floor as it will drip the whole time you are working on it until it is re-connected to the new bowl. Have a plastic trash bag handy to put the old bowl into quickly after removal. You won't see that in the video either. I did not give this 5 stars as I just finished the job a few minutes ago so I don't have overnight or longer to evaluate. I will follow up in a couple of weeks to see how it's doing. The few flushes that I did after connection were very tight in a good way. That's when you know your other bowl had seen its day.

Don't pay attention to reviews that say this is difficult! Literally out with the old and in with the new in less than 20 minutes. See notes below for simple tips.Best feature: The included components made installation breeze. No need to change out the small parts that wore out.PROS:Complete lower unit. Complete hardware bag included. Complete gasket, o-ring, flange & seal kit.All of this included for a fair price which extends the life of the toilet. Saved hundreds of dollars compared to a new toilet. What a great design for handy DIY people.CONS:Instructions are over simplified. They should QR Code to their install video and recommend more realistic tools for the installation. This would negate some negative reviews.NOTES:First, the suggested tools to do the job are totally inadequate. Using ¼ inch drive rachet with deep sockets makes the job much easier. Sockets I used were ⅜ & ½ inch deep on non flex ¼ inch drive rachet. Pliers on the lock ring for the water supply was the only other thing I needed.Installing this 'twice' is much easier than struggling with the twist lock flanges. Try following these steps:(Over simplified for brevity. Use this with the included instructions and watch video first.)1) remove bowl from old base following instructions.2) remove old base from floor anchors.3) put new base on to floor anchors WITHOUT putting soft flange gasket and only tighten the floor nuts slightly. Just enough to hold it in place.4) install bowl on new base by leaning on it and push down and twist the locks into place. This is MUCH easier than trying to hold the base in place and twist the bowl.5) remove the entire set from the floor flange anchors so you can center the rear bowl screw holes in the small rear opening while it is so much easier to see and move. Install the two screws between the bowl and base.6) now put the flange gasket in place.7) install the complete setup onto the floor anchors with the new nuts included in the kit.WOULD YOU BUY AGAIN & WHY:I would recommend this to anyone thinking about rebuilding the toilet. This is much easier and works like new when finished. I ordered another one to store in the garage until needed again. Our water is very hard so it wears gaskets and o-rings quickly. Please thumbs up this if it helped you. Thanks!

We had a guest using our 2018 Northwood Arctic Fox travel trailer recently, and she reported a problem with the toilet. Said something had broken, and found a small plastic part that clearly had busted. We bought the trailer second-hand 3 years ago, and the toilet working properly was indeed the one issue we experienced. After researching online, and calling a Northwood dealer, I learned I needed the model & other number from the toilet. Which was not readily available, but when I asked, the dealer said, " use your phone to take photos of the back of the toilet." Which I did, and it allowed me to figure out which part, in this case, the entire lower base, I should order.A friend helped install the new base today, and I'm pleased to report all is well again in the trailer bathroom. Install went easily, and the base, which houses all the working parts, works far better than the original base.Since there are a number of moving parts, springs, etc inside the base, I'm glad we replaced the entire unit, it should give years of use before new problems.

I purchased this base to replace my old one where the lever to open the valve had broken. No it is a little pricey it’s definitely cheaper than buying a whole new toilet. I tried to take my old one apart and thought about just purchasing the piece I needed, but someone said that the lever was hard to reattach. Sure enough as I tried to reattach it I broke another piece off so I decided to just purchase a whole new base. I am glad I did because getting rid of the old base I realized how disgusting it was! The Thetford quality is decent as far as RV toilets go and it was brand new, well-made, no flaws, and super easy to put together. If I can do it anyone can. A helpful note: on the back of your current base it should say the model number. Just search that number in the question section to see if this one will fit yours. Best of luck!
