I purchased the T2Pro to help me find wildlife (particularly nocturnal birds) while travelling. The plug-in camera is simple to use when paired with the IR Explorer app on my iPhone. So far, I've only used it for locating birds in dense undergrowth, for which it works quite well, and is able to pick up small birds at a range of at least 100ft. My main interest is to use it for finding owls at night, and I think that it should work very well for that purpose.

The T2 Pro is a fantastic concept and offers a much cheaper alternative to a full-fledged thermal monocular with similar features, which would easily cost twice as much. The image quality is excellent, and it performs well for its price. However, there are a few drawbacks that hold it back. Using the included handle with my phone felt cumbersome. Holding my phone in one hand and operating the device isn’t as ergonomic as I hoped. I also tried mounting it on my camera, but my phone felt too bulky in this setup. Personally, I’d much prefer a standalone monocular that I could easily mount on my vest. The most disappointing part is the lack of proper app support. The app available on the Google Play Store doesn’t even recognize the device, which is a major oversight. I had to hunt down an old APK to get it working, which is far from ideal. It seems the company needs to invest more effort into refining their software and ensuring smoother usability.Overall, it’s a great device for what it offers, but better app support and a more ergonomic design would make it an even better product. I'd recommend this product for home use.

The current software version that you would download from Google Play store would not work with a Samsung s22. It will give you a continuous spinning circle at startup. I had to find an old version of the software from 2023 and download it to my phone. The app you need is called "Xinfrared". Once I did that this thing performs flawless and it is unreal how great the technology is for the money.

My friend has a $6k thermal binocular and I didn't want to spend that amount of money. This came in at around 400 and that was what I was looking for. I'm using it with my Samsung Note 20 Ultra and it works great. No connection issues and the images are as good has his 6k but I don't have the ridiculous range he does. Then again, I don't need to see a mouse at 800 yards. I can see mice at 200 yards and that's fine.So far I've used it around the house to confirm my 5 chest freezers are working (can see the coils glowing), what critters are 150 feet away at my chicken coop at night (coons, mice, and opossums), and coyotes and deer out in the field across the street. Apart from real needs for it I find it's just a blast to play with. Some things of note:1) with my UAG case on my phone I can't plug the sensor directly into my charging port. No problem as I find the hand-held 'holder' more than functional.2) I'm glad the Android app allows for 180 degree rotation of the image as mine was initially upside-down because of how I orient my phone.3) overall the app is good and does what it needs to do.4) I found that my 10-foot USB-C extension cable works so I can prop the thermal up on a table and sit a distance away. When I want to see what made the noise out in the dark I just switch from YouTube or whatever I'm watching back to the app and boom... the camera's image is on the screen. In all, I have no complaints about this. I have not noticed any additional battery drain and it has never crashed.I recommend this : - )

easy to use, for some small birds hide deeper in bush or branch.

I use this to look at deer from my deck at night. I can easily identify animals at 400 yards. I can usually see the antlers too. Just make sure you fine tune the focus. Really neat to actually see what the woods look like at night too. I got the android version, downloaded the app , plugged in and away I went. The only downfall I can kind of say is like others, with my phone case it is an extremely tight finicky fit. Without the case, it works great. I just rather the ease of leaving my case on. I hooked it up to my tablet and it worked great with that too. I just had to fabricate a holder for the larger tablet. Overall for the price, It was well worth it. I would highly recommend.

I bought the iPhone version of this and nothing on the webpage said anything about using the lightning connector so I wasn’t sure which version of iPhone it would work with. When I got it, it didn’t work with my phone obviously because I have USB-C on all new iPhones. I did try it with an old iPad and it did work fairly well and looks really nice. However, it didn’t seem to change the orientation so it was very awkward to use with the iPad. Then I ended up getting the USB-C version which said for android and it didn’t also not work with iPhone, which is kind of understandable but the iPhone version doesn’t work with a modern iPhone. So I would not say that this is something that works with all smart phones. It only works with certain particular, smart phones if you get the correct version, and the moon is in the correct phase. So for all the great reviews, I saw this only seems to work in very specific used cases so if you’re looking at it to be able to work with whatever smart device, you might have at time, keep looking.

La cámara funciona bien, el problema es que el cable que va de la cámara térmica al teléfono no encaja bien y no funciona, osea que no puedo usar la cámara con el cable. Por lo que necesito que me cambien el cable por uno que este bien.

Purchased this item in Oct 2023. The item worked accordingly when I wiggled the cable connection. It appeared loose. I told them I was satisfied with the imaging, not the connection. I signed up for the 2 year extended warranty. When I notified customer support and explained the problem, they requested a better explanation and asked me to connect the device to the phone directly= same issue, I need the cable connected. Then they requested photos. I asked; how can I, in a photo, show a loose connection? It was either the cable or the device. I gave them time to response and informed them that I would write this review. After that, I have not heard back from them. Like I said, the product imaged accordingly however, without a proper and functional connection, it is just junk.
