Initial impression was its lighter than most other brands. Indeed the strap feels thin, but it’s certainly tough enough and the plastic plate behind the windlass keeps skin from getting twisted in during application. I like the design (very SOF-T like) and the fact that it’s less expensive than most real TQs. The only issue I could see is finding a fitted carrying case… But I got a universal case instead and it went in (and out) with no problem. I think the TMT is a winner.

Takes the best of CAT and SOF T in it's design. Bought two. Used one for training. It's extra width does make it less painful. Once preset the loop and it goes on with a good pull and if needed one more pull and turn the windlass. Does quite well with single hand application due the friction in the buckle holding the strap. Excess strap can be a nuisance if left dangling. Time is noted at the tip of strap.

I like most people was (and still am) a CAT fan and carried them regularly. After a couple years of fiddling with all the TCCC recommendations, I believe the TMT is the gold standard. A lot of the best qualities of both the CAT and the SOFTTW, with some awesome additions. The buckle itself is strong enough to hold, with velcro as the backup retention system. The TQ RAM attachment is cool for junctional injuries as well. Easy application to self and even easier on others. Wide like the tx2, but with easier 1 handed application. 10/10
