These bands not only keep your line on the spool they aslo make it easy to keep tension on the spool while unwinding leader material or spooling up a reel. I have one on a massive spool of 17lb mono filament we use while surf fishing that's bolted to a surf rack on the front of my truck. I drove all the way from Ohio to North Carolina with the spool and band on the front of my truck at highways speeds and the line stayed in place the entire way.

Seems a little overpriced but it beats having to put rubber bands that degrade in the sun over time. I'm a fly fishing guide and use this for my spools and they have saved me the Hassel of rubber bands breaking every month.

I purchased these Spool line tamers / controllers . The Band are all the same Strength and Sizes. Bummer !!!. It would have been Better if different strength Different Size Spools They 👍 work well . They are a bit wider band than others and there non adjustable. Just wish different sizes for different size Spools and lead material.
