I installed this stator on my mower and it does not work. Started it up and no charge. Regulator is new, battery is new, wiring is correct, the stator output at idle is 4 VAC and 9 VAC at wide open throttle. The service manual calls for 28 VAC or higher so I’ll be taking it back apart and starting over (at least I can return it!!)

Cub Cadet RZT 42 zero turn mower had a battery charging problem. Replaced the alternator, diode rectifier, and cleaned the ignition coils/flywheel magnet faces. The only issue is the extra length of the connector on the alternator: I used zip ties to take up the excess. Be careful routing the lead as it can get caught under the metal plate and pinched during reassembly.Kohler SV 715-3027 engine manufactured for MTD.
