I had always wanted to pick up a pair of these for my snowblower, but had just never gotten around to it. However, after receiving around 24-26” of snow in one final snowstorm in the beginning of May ‘23, ai realized just how badly I needed a set to keep the blower moving. I picked these up shortly after clearing the driveway and am very happy I did.The small Ariens Compact 26 used to have issues with moving itself atop the cement pad, but now it just grips and pulls itself through the snow without any issues. These really have made it so much easier to clear the snow and I have more confidence in it not getting stuck in the stickier, heavier snow now.

I ordered these chains for my new snowblower, but we had very little snow this year and I never got a chance to use them. But they look good and I expect them to fit and work just fine next year.

These definitely run large both length and width. I have a snowblower with 13x5x6 tires. I removed 2 links off each side so I could get them tight enough. Since the chains hang over onto the rim, you cannot use the center ring on the tensioners. This requires a bit of engineering by removing the springs from the ring (just use a bolt cutter) and attaching only 2 springs. Looks weird but it works. I also used zip ties to ensure the fasteners don't pop off. Chains seem pretty rugged and should help with traction.

I bought these chains with tensioners for our snow blower. The chains showed up without any tensioners. The company did send us the tensioners. The chains are fine. The tensioners are worthless. I paid extra for the tensioners. Why provide them, when they clearly don’t fit the chains? The tensioners fell off in under one minute. They should NOT be selling these tensioners with their chains. Very disappointed in product. I would not buy again since I feel I was lied to about the product.

One word of caution.. if you are installing these on a snow blower make sure the center ring can not catch on the Clovis pin. In my case, I had a low pressure tire and with the chains, allowed the tire to slip on the rim. The center ring caught on the pin and wound the springs around the pin, destroying the spring. Hope others learn from my mistake... otherwise the chains are fantastic and really add a lot of ice griping force.

These are WAY too big for 13x5x6 Carlisle Xtrac tires. Do not buy!
