Boiling the water (for hot coffee) in the same pan that you then use for your French press is brilliant!!! One less thing to get in the way of a small camping cooking area. I get a grin every time I use this thing!! And - not having a traditional glass French press [think fragile] tossed in with all my other gear just makes camping easier - more time for fishing, less time fussing. And you can use it for other cooking uses beyond coffee if your lazy like me.

I love this thing it has been one of my best survival items! I have actually turned my whole entire family on to using French presses and so many people are impressed to see one used over open flame :-) I wound up with a shipping issue but I think that was more due to an Amazon driver then an issue with this company. They ended up shipping the first one to the wrong address so I had to wait to get a second one shipped to the right address but awesome coffee press 👍 I would have given it another star if it would have came with say a insulated sleeve or cozy to help keep things warm as when you make coffee over a fire in the winter time you can't keep it warm for long 😜It is very durable and quality material and will hold up many years if you take care of it.As a matter of fact I am enjoying a nice cup of coffee from mine as we speak.Takes a little bit of elbow grease but it cleans up nicely as well

Just got this and used it to make a couple cups of incredibly good coffee. Never made coffee other than with a Keurig. It made me feel connected to the past. The press is lightweight and fairly compact, very well-made and easy to use. Definitely a good purchase

We were happily using the Stanley Boil and Brew French press, but it just wasn't big enough for the amount of coffee we usually drink. The Pathfinder makes twice as much coffee. I love that I only need one pot to make coffee (most French presses are insulated and require another pot to boil the water to pour into the press). We usually only use it with a camp stove, but when we forgot the stove on a recent camping trip, we had to use it over the fire. It's not as shiny and pretty anymore, but otherwise it handled the fire without any damage. It's simple to use, simple to clean, and makes the perfect cup (or 2, or 3!) of coffee. I would definitely buy it again, but I don't think I will need to since it's very sturdy. I looked everywhere online for a loooong time, so I'm glad I found what I was looking for.

Bought this for camping. I like that it is not insulated so you can put it right on the fire or stove. Heated the water right in it with the coffee grounds, pressed it all down and had some great coffee. It's pretty big, too. Bigger than I thought it would be. This is a great, quality product at half the price of others.

Just buy it! I have read all the reviews and I am not easy to give 5 stars but this coffee press I am very much impressed! I can highly recommend this without a doubt! It is indeed the best coffee press from amazon. THE BEST ONE!!! Great quality and a very good price! I love it! The only downside is it is made from stainless steel so expect it to be a little bit heavy, yet so sturdy and good for indoor or outdoor coffee and camping. I am just hoping this brand would be able to offer this kind of quality coffee press made from Titanium as well. Because of the quality of this coffee press I wont mind bring it for back packing even if it is a little bit heavy. THIS IS BUILT LIKE A TANK. I will be waiting and hoping for a Titanium version of this #ThePathfinderSchool coffee press

I had recently brought a Stanley thermos/French press, when the Cabela's didn't have the enameled camping pot or the large Stanley thermos I was looking for.We went camping with a friend, an early riser, and awakened to the aftermath of the French press having been ruined by our friend having put it on the stove. That was a bummer, but the brewing and the storage need to be separated. Using a French press as a thermos results in a bitter cup of coffee. You might as well be drinking instant coffee. With the Pathfinder French press, you make a proper French press brew, then separate it from the grounds, either into your cups, or into a thermos minus the grounds, giving you the opportunity to drink a delicious cup of coffee. This French press also doubles as a lot for boiling water, either to sterilize, or brew tea
