Bought for my cellist teenaged son because he disliked using the standard end pin anchor (the one that is hooked to the leg of a chair) when on stage. I’ve actually bought a couple of them to have a back up in case one gets misplaced/lost.Pros:1) He really likes that they don’t slide around on stages with polished hardwood (like regular end pin anchors apparently do).2) They seem to be quite durable. He’s had his for several months and there’s been no chipping or tearing to the grip on the bottom.3) It’s easy to clean with a damp microfiber cloth.4) The dark color reduces glare/shine from the stage lights. My son said that sometimes with a regular end pin anchor the glare from the stage lights would shine in his eyes which he found to be annoying. This rock stop causes him no problems.Cons:1) There is a distinct old tire smell when first opening the package. My son said that the smell dissipated after about a week of airing out and regular use.Overall, this product is of good quality. If you or the cellist in your life needs a solid rock stop, this is the best value for money, hands down.

I've been a cello teacher for 12 years and this is the ONLY thing I've tried that actually works - and I've tried lots. To really emphasize how effectively this works, I teach a foundational reliance on gravity in my technique - so my students typically have a lot of weight in their arms when they play in order to ground their energy and prevent hand frame distortions. This endpin rest can really take it!!
