About this item

  • CARDED WOOL FELT In BRIGHT SHADES 100g / 3.5 Oz, approx 10 g of each colour. You will get a lovely selection similar to the picture
  • SHEEPS WOOL This felting wool is a blend of sheep wools from New Zealand approx. 27 microns. It comes in a brilliant range of colours and is very easy to use. We also sell individual shades - check our other listings
  • USE: Great wool for needle felting. This carded felt is also suitable for wet felting, embellishment and other crafts. In wet felting use for items that you want to keep their shape like slippers or interior objects for example.
  • HOW TO USE: Begin by roughly shaping felting wool as required. The more you compress your wool the less time it will take to needle felt. Place your wool onto the surface. Using the coarse needle (not included), repeatedly insert it into the wool, shaping as you go. Keep peeling your work off the foam as you go so it doesn’t get stuck. When it becomes difficult to insert the needle, swap for a finer one and continue until your work is a firm shape
  • This wool is batting NOT WOOL TOPS. All fibres are intermixed. If you are looking for combed tops (to use as hair or long fur) in long continuous strands look at wool rovings instead. Our carded wool will not be suitable for this. For needle felting please don’t start with Merino wool tops as these are hard to work with and can put you off

I needlefelt landscapes and find it difficult to find batt wool. This is making such a difference in things such as cloud formations. I have used roving for this but it requires extra work and does not always come out the way I would like. It is easy to handle, easy to use and the greys are excellent for landscapes with less than sunny weather. I also like the fact that unlike some dyed wool I can still smell the lanolin!

This is great wool, excellent as a top coat or for creating a base for felting

A good selection of green colours, nicely packaged. Wool feels soft but sturdy, though I've not yet felted with this wool.

Good assortment of natural browns, ideal for animals or nature based felting work. The wool also felted nicely and had minimal 'bits' inside it which made it easier to just get straight to felting. Price was also reasonable. I'd buy again

This is core wool which is not soft like others. I use this for needle felting animals. It has a texture which is better for blending other colors and with other types of wool
