I love this. The first photo was when the carpet looks dead and matted down. The second photo looks like new. It didn't take much to do it. I will recommend this item.

I read the reviews about the product and I have not had any problems with it. I have a shag and have been using a brush but this tool works better. It re-fluffs my carpet and the tool is sturdy. Instead of buying a carpet rake I ordered this instead so I could get closer to the carpet when using. It is easy to clean and lightweight to use. I was skeptical initially because of the price. But so far so good.

Just a few swipes in to repairing my carpet and the silicone piece broke off from the plastic handle. I definitely noticed a difference in my carpet, so I am asking for a replacement and returning the broken one. Hopefully this won’t happen again. From the looks of it, I don’t feel it was properly attached. Or if it was it may be a good idea that the company rethinks the way this product is made.

This actually did more than I expected. It fluffed the rug up a bit, it still looks kind of raggedy but at least it's not totally flat. Definitely more practical for small areas like stairs. It will be a big job to do my whole area rug but it might be worth it. I went over the same area a few times. It looks more like a rug instead of a pancake now. I'll have to see how it looks in a few days since it seems like as soon as I step on it it'll be back how it was. You might get good results if you do this together with a shampoo or steam cleaner. It doesn't look like new but it does look fluffed up.* update, when I kept going over the less- trafficked areas it was a little easier to brush and looked better. It also pulled up a lot of hair and trapped crumbs and stuff. I think after this a good vacuum will help too. I changed from 3 to 4 stars because for the price it's a pretty good improvement and might buy us some time for our kids to get older before we have to buy an expensive new rug.(Note: I don't have pets but I've got kids, they don't shed as bad as dogs but they do have long hair and forget to take off shoes or leave food in the kitchen ;) )* update: it's kind of addictive, I did a whole section in a few more minutes and you can see it does look much better.

Used it on my flattened worn rug and everyone was amazed at how great the rug looked. It looked new. Plus it doubles as a pet hair remover which both the dog and cat love. Since it’s rubber, cleans up nicely for multiple uses. Definitely recommend!!!!

First time i used this product it fell apart on me. The silicone head just ripped clear out of the plastic mount. Reminded me of the cheap hairbrushes i used to buy as a teenager that would do exactly the same thing eventually.

I was really hoping this would help with the matted carpet on my stairs. They seem impossible to get clean, no matter what I do. I hope this agitated the fibers and moved the dirt so the vacuum can get it.It moved the fibers only a little. It didn't move much dirt. And the vacuum picked up the same amount of dirt. It did work a little on some hair that was on the stairs, but it also broke while I was using it. Anyone who has had a rubber brush for their hair knows the pain of the brush popping out of the handle. So frustrating.I'm going to tell Amazon it was defective, but I might see if my friend with lots of pets likes it more.

I was excited to use this product, as the carpet on my stairs was looking a little matted. But after putting it to use, I was very disappointed. I had 12 steps to do. I raked each step with very little pressure to bring the pile back. I was just dragging it back and forth across the carpet, and not pushing down. After the 3rd step, I noticed the rubber nubs were wearing down. By the time I reached the top step, they were looking REALLY worn. I'm disappointed in this product. The rubber nubs are far too soft. They need to be much harder. It's almost a one and done item. By the time I got to the top step it was noticeably less efficient at working the pile. I'm not sure it's even worth using again.

Doesn't take knots out. Too soft to get down into the fibers. My rug is only 1" long shag.Just use a hair brush and take your time brushing. If you can take the rug outside and drape it out on some supports this brush wouldn't preform any better than a standard hair brush.

Our carpet is 10 years old. We moved our bed and you could clearly see where my husband got in and out. Carpet all matted.I used brush when it was wet with shampoo and it looked much better. Used it a second time in about a week and it looks better yet and doesn't seem to be flattening back out.
