I found these craftsman stands for 20$.So, I put together 2 heater stands (only one pictured)to dry power coat. 1 stand has two fixtures with two heat tubes per fixture.one fixture reached 160 degrees in about 8 mins. Two fixtures reached 258 degrees in about 10 mins.I ran 2 heaters in parallel, 2 heater tubes per ssr. 1 pid controller, controls the dc ssr and that dc ssr controls all 4 ac ssr’s. Each fixture is plugged into its own dedicated 20amp circuit.

I gave these 3 stars because they did the job, I needed them to do, but all the user reviews complaining about the packaging are 100% true. I had to do a return on the first order. The shipping box seemed intact when I received it, but when I opened it and got to the actual lamps to put everything together, there was a lamp that had been broken either during manufacturing or packaging. I had to order a replacement and then start a return on the original order.Guess what? The second order had two broken lamps in it. Fortunately, I had not sent the original return back yet. I had to take good lamps from the first order and put them together with the good lamps in the second order, to get two working, functional heat lamps.It all worked out, but if you are in a hurry, you might want to order something a little more expensive, because you are getting what you pay for with these lamps. The metal is indeed thin, and they are a bit of a pain to put together. Don't handle the bulbs with bare hands. You will leave oil from your hands on the bulbs and that will shorten their life span. The mounting brackets are cheap as well. I bought some heavy duty strap metal to bolt the mounting brackets too so I could get a solid mounting surface. That cost me an additional $25 bucks in hardware. Just know what you are getting into if you order these lamps!

These lamps heat up very quickly and produce lots of heat. But, assembly is tricky. You have to bend down a tab and insert the tube from one end, past that tab and all the way through the housing. There isn't much room to do this. Also, the method for securing the tubes in place is awful. The tubes just sit in the housing and are kept in place by notches in the tabs, one of which you bent over to feed the tube into the housing. The tubes just never feel like they are being held securely in place. One tube did not get very hot the first time I plugged it in. But since then it works fine. Just fyi, I measured the resistance and calculated an average amp draw of about 11.5 amps. I know this was a question some people had when I was researching lamps. One 20 amp circuit will not handle two of these.

Bought these when adapting a fiberglass front spoiler. Pain in the but to put together the glass tubes and wire screen.Housing is like 30 gauge metal, very flimsy. Draws a lot of amps so use at least 12 or 10 gauge wire. Throws off great heat though.

Material is super thin, and easily deformed by normal shipping.Metal will yield to external forces intruding in, and they will.Glass will not yield.When the inevitable jostling gets to them through the paper, they just break.Bulbs have no armor, and none is provided.

For the price, the product is fine. You do need to assemble and wire it yourself, which is fine. The reason that I gave it two stars is because how the chose to package the product for shipping. It's horrendous, and the box is very flimsy. I had to order a replacement because the box did such a terrible job protecting the project that it was bent to the extent that the metal literally tore in places. I received The replacement and the box was not in good shape The item was bent a bit but not destroyed as the first one I'm not asking for perfection but I should be able to receive a product with out dents and bends. Just because I need to use this I decided not to order another replacement and just straightened any of the bent pieces but I am very disappointed. A little bit more money spent on adequate packaging would alleviate this instead of having to continue to send out replacements due to damaging because of inadequate packaging.
