I recently enrolled in a math course that required a graphing calculator. The professor didn't require any certain one, but did recommend the TI-84 as a solid option. I recall using a TI-83 back in high school over a decade ago, so I felt confident in sticking with the brand. I chose the TI-84 Plus Silver Edition, and couldn't be happier with my purchase. Much less bulky than the graphing calculators I've used in the past, the TI-84 Plus Silver Edition has a sleek design and rests easily in your hand. The color screen adds so much to the graphs and makes them so much easier to interpret. The keys and functions are much more intuitive than any calculator I've used in the past. It doesn't take a significant amount of time to charge, and it holds that charge for quite awhile (I'm two months into the semester and have not had to recharge it, yet!). All in all, it's a sound investment, and I wholeheartedly recommend it.

インター9年生の娘に購入。数学のクラスに購入必須だそうで仕方なく。性能的に知りませんが、高すぎるので星2つ。世界標準と言われればそれまでですが、カシオさん頑張って世界標準勝ち取りましょう。

It's faster, more Colorful and less bulky than the TI-83. You can even play flappy bird on it. A lot new trick you can do. Even cheating. Though it is not encouraged.Hope this helped.

I am a mathematics teacher at the college level and I have taught in middle and high schools as well. I waited for a while before upgrading to this calculator from the standard TI 84. I have long been a fan of Texas Instruments calculators and I have taught with them for years. Several on here have commented about the slowness of the graphing with this new model. But, as mentioned by a few other reviewers, if you go to the FORMAT menu (2nd Zoom) and turn off "Detect Asymptotes," it will graph every bit as good or better (faster) than its predecessor. The graph is crisp and clear and the pixels are not as obvious because of the quality of the display. If you have used the original TI84 you will not be used to a function called "Detect Asymptotes" anyway, so you do not need that additional functionality.Others have lamented about the lack of memory available on this "upgrade." That is not important from my perspective as a mathematics professor. If you want something for games, then go get a tablet or something. This unit does exceptionally well for what it was intended to do. The TI84 will remain a favorite of mine for a long time.At first I was concerned about the lithium battery. In particular I was concerned about replacing it. However, Texas Instruments does sell a replacement battery for this and for the TI Nspire units. Addition Texas Instruments claims that this battery should last at least three years if it is taken care of properly. I have only had this calculator for about 30 minutes, but I can tell you that I will be very happy with this purchase. I cannot imagine anyone who would not be happy with the TI 84+ C edition. Just take proper care of it and you'll be fine! If you need an inexpensive graphing calculator, then go buy a used TI83+ instead. Even so, the resale value of these guys makes it worth it, in my opinion, even if you only need it for one semester or so. Definitely read the guidelines for battery upkeep to maximize the life of your battery, and remember to charge it fully before taking tests! (Don't blame the battery if it fails you when you didn't charge it!)

The shipping was amazing and I got it right before a test I really needed the calculator for. All of the things that were described in the description were included and the calculator functions well. I would definitely buy and recommend purchasing calculators from Syracuse Calculators because they give you awesome deals for calculators that you need.In terms of how the product works, I have to say that I prefer the good old TI-84 silver edition than this more updated version. The color screen on the calculator is great, and typing in exponents are pretty great on this calculator as well, which is mostly what many of the classes I have to take seem to venture towards eventually, but the speed of the calculator when you type in the simplest thing to solve, 1+1, it seems to lag and slow down a bit before you can actually get the answer. I know that this isn't a big deal and you could just be patient for a couple of seconds until the answer pops up, but when you are taking a timed test......ugh, it gets annoying. >:(That said, don't think that it takes like five minutes before you get an answer, lol; it only takes like a couple of seconds vs. the older models which give you an answer ASAP.Another thing I do like very much about this calculator is that you can just charge it. I don't have to do out and buy some batteries every time they need some....Anyways, Thank you Syracuse Calculators for your great service!
