I’m nearly 26 weeks pregnant and don’t fit in my normal down sleeping bag. I got this for a January car camping trip with projected lows around 0°. I was incredibly comfortable in the bag, so snug and cozy and lots of room to move around, which is helpful cause it’s uncomfortable to sleep these days. I’m around 5’7”, so it was a bit long but that was helpful with packing the next day’s clothes in the toe to be warm the next morning. I was hesitant to get this bag because it’s definitely big and heavy and takes up a lot of space rolled up, but I’m really glad I did.

I car camp in the Rockies for ski season during Winter. Around 10,000’. Have used this twice (-35F model) in below freezing temperatures. First night -2F, and -9F second night. Was warm and cozy until I had to get up to pee. Definitely works well for very cold temps so far. I do use a camping pad underneath. The little pocket on the outside is good for keeping phone warm. It’s big and heavy, so not a bag for hiking unless you’re a Navy Seal or something like that. My only gripe is the zipper sometimes takes a bit to get going. But it’s a solid zipper no doubt. All of the materials seem of good quality. The canvas outer also seems very durable. If you needing a cold weather bag and eyeing this one up, go for it, you won’t be disappointed.

This is the best sleeping bag I’ve bought. I live off grid and use it daily. I have not slept in this yet in cold weather so I can’t comment on -35 degrees, but the quality is great. Very comfortable and has a canvas like exterior so it’s not slippery like others. It’s in the 40’s right now at night. It’s a little to warm of a bag, but I can tell it will be perfect for the cold weather that’s coming. Also it is very big. I feel like you could fit two people in it if you were sleeping on your side. Most my other bags were mummy bags. This feels like a mansion compared to the mummy bag. It is a heavy bag so I would not recommend for hiking. But if you are a hunter or camp in the winter this bag will be great

My -30 bag is comfy , nice & wide, long etc...But I'm right handed & while laying in the bag the zipper is on the right requiring me to reach over with my left hand, this is awkward, zipper gets stuck every 8 inches or so, I end up having to use both hands to move it, Just seems strange as I have never had a sleeping bag with the zipper on the right side ??

La textura de la tela exterior es horrible, pica, raspa y se siente tan barata como una envoltura desechable.

Some people have complain that they still feel cold sleeping in this sleeping bag but the truth of the matter is that they are probably not as hot blooded as myself. Even myself sleeping outside naked in winter (of course leaving my jeans inside the sleeping bag while I sleep) I feel extremely warm. There is plenty of space if you're not a big/tall man or woman to move around and get comfortable. Another thing is the sleeping bag is a little bulky and on the heavy side but the zipper is pretty sturdy and is very easy to use. The design is reasonable with decent quality and very soft on the inside. Can't complain 5 stars

this is a great sleeping bag. i spent a long time comparing and thinking about different temperature ratings. i live off grid in new mexico. winter five so i'm learning how to do it. the right gear means not having to go through so much wood for heating. and i love the feeling of being bundled up. i thought -35 might be excessively warm. early in the season and night temps low around 36, it is perfect. i love this sleeping bag. if it gets too warm i throw a leg out and am fine. i slept with it sleeping bag style the first several nights. today i aired it out outside, unzipped all the way and have left it blanket style which is also wonderful.exceptionally well made. sturdy and heavy, soft and cozy inside. the cotton lining is dreamy as others have mentioned. the sac the bag comes in doubles as an excellent laundry bag or duffel/tote. with the sleeping bag or a mass of clothes in the bag, the bag also serves as an excellent big cushion or bolsterone note is that the zipper does tend to catch on the fabric. it's a well made zipper. it just took a moment of patience to guide the zipper away from the fabric seam which it kept getting stuck on. i think this may stop happening once the bag is broke in more.i was unsure about spending the extra for this bag but it is a great value for the money. i can imagine using it for many seasons. happy.

I have nothing negative to say about this product. It's heavy and bulky but I consider that a small price to pay for staying warm when it's -25 deg C. It is well made with a heavy duty zip and comes with inside and outside pockets, for keys 'n phone. I'm a big guy (6' , 260lb) and this sleeping bag is very generous. I like the fastening straps that keep it rolled up. I also like the storage bag that has a very long zip that covers the whole length and down one side making it really easy to use. This is an excellent sleeping bag. I've used mine for about 10 nights when sleeping outside in a Canadian winter and I'm very happy with my purchase.

My family and I go camping about four times a year and I freeze my butt off if the temperature drops below about 45 F. In the past I have tried several different bags promising to keep you warm at 20 F or 0 F only to find I am still shivering at 40 deg F. And when my sleep is miserable then so is my trip. Decided to give this Teton Sports DeerHunter model a try because I like rectangular bags (especially the rare ones that have drawstring curved hoods) and this bag has a survival rating of -35 F. The bag is also not crazy expensive like many expedition rated mummy bags that advertise terrific warmth at very low temperatures but weigh only five pounds and cost $300 plus. Amazon delivered the DeerHunter to me a week later and I unfolded it from the supplied carrying bag. My first impression was that it was thick. Very thick. And it weighs about 16 pounds (7.3 Kg), so definitely more of a bag for car camping or longer term hunting trips than for the expedition style camper. The bag also has heavy duty zippers and inner and outer pockets to hold cell phones, wallets, etc.. A great mummy style hood with drawstrings that can be pulled up tight around the head. This bag is hand wash only (and Teton recommends watching the video on their website first if you plan to hand wash it) which at first seems like a deal killer but the reason is that any washing machine will compress the synthetic insulation too much, causing the bag to lose a bit of its heat retaining characteristics. The same is true of storing the bag too tightly compressed for many months. Crazy as it may sound, upon receiving the DeerHunter, I took it to my friend's cousin who owns a meat packing shop with large walk in style freezers. I asked him if I could try the bag in the freezer overnight. He said something in Italian about me being crazy but made sure the door could be opened from the inside and set up the temperature control to begin at 0 F and then move slowly down to -20 F over the next five hours. (we could not set the temperature to -35 F which is the survival rating of this bag - the freezer only went to -20 F) I made sure I had adequate oxygen in the room and then set up my cot at 11 PM and went to sleep. (When I camp, I use a cot about 8 inches off the ground, a closed cell foam sleeping pad and then my bag on top of that) At 0 F, this bag worked excellent and I was still warm enough with my long underwear, blue jeans, flannel shirt and jacket on. By the time the temp got down to -20 F, I felt pretty chilled (not enough to be truly miserable but enough to affect sleeping). I slipped on my two extra layers of fleece I had in the bag beside my body and went back to sleep. It was not great sleep, but I did get back to sleep (the air was so cold that I did notice it at my throat but I still went back to sleep). I don't know how well this bag would work on frozen soil without a cot or sleeping pad, but for my style of camping, I was pretty impressed that it allowed sleep at -20 F. In short, this bag probably does live up to its claims which is that if you are warmly dressed in multiple layers, you can survive the night at around -30 to -40 deg F. It is well built and includes a nice carrying bag with handles. For the $135 I paid for it, excellent bag and highly recommend. Five stars.
