I bought these rubber tracked chains because I have a new concrete drive way and needed to plow the snow. I read so much about different types of chains and how using chains was not a good idea. I have been using regular chains for years. So I bought this product to protect my driveway.I followed the instructions that came with the chains and the chains kept falling off during plowing. I read several reviews and found half the people saying that this was a perfect product and other half saying that they can’t keep these chains on. After the first time the chains came off, I put them back on,. After the third time I was very upset and stopped plowing for the night. So, I did more research because I did not want to go back to my regular chains, but the snow was piling up.I watched several videos on installing these TerraKing TerraGrip chains. I collected all the good practices and applied them. Then I plowed for several hours and not a single problem. In this case, it’s all about how you install them. Here are the keys to installation that I learned:1) use a jack or a stand to raise the tires off the ground. This will allow you more room to access the chain latching mechanism2) make sure you drape the chains along the top of the tire with the latching mechanism on the outside of the tire.3) let all the air out of your tires before installation.4) it will require a few times to tighten the latch, adjust the chains and re-latch the mechanism to get a tight fit. You must ensure it is very tight against the tire. No gap under the rubber between the tire and the rubber cross tracks5) when making your adjustments of the inboard chain hook and the outboard latch, NEVER LET GO of the two ends. This will cause you to start the entire process over again.6) to assist with getting the latch over center, it helps to have a bar or screw driver to give you additional leverage7) once you have gone through all of this, reinflate the tire. Do not exceed manufacture recommendations. It takes time to install these chains properly, but once you do, they operate fantastically

Needed these so that my chains wouldn't wreck deco concrete out of the garage. Snowblowing down 1 km driveway - didn't even make it to the end - yes they were installed and tensioned properly - probably okay if you don't have to push hard but thats what I thought they were for?

Seems like a good idea, was only able to use once as no snow fell after purchased. But it certainly helped the slipping of turf tires, a great improvement.

Very pleased! I had read the reviews and decided to give them a try. I have been using chains for years but wearing out cross links regularly, marking up my pavement, tearing up my lawn and enduring a rough ride. These seem like the cross links will last longer than the chains, they don't mark up my pavement or tear up my lawn and they give you a smoother ride. I live in new england and i put them on before snow and used them during fall yard work. I am glad i put them in while it was warm, the rubber cross links flex easier to make fitting and installation easier. Now they are still on the tractor with my snowblower. I have a heavy tractor, a John Deere 425 it weighs over 800 pounds dry with no weights or attachments i have a 48 inch blower (maybe 250 pounds with the mount) on the front and just over 300 pounds of wheel weights and iron on the back. I installed them as tight as I could and tensioned them with a rubber bungee cord. They have slipped a little on the wheel but settled into a position they were happy in and they make the tractor go!Even with all the weight i am moving I occasionally spin my wheels and they are holding up well! I may never go back to chains!

These were a pleasant surprise.I have an LS J2030H sub compact tractor that I put a 54" snow blower on this winter. My property is sloping and I found out quickly that even blowing the snow out of the tractors path, on the slopes the tractor did not have enough traction in 4wd to get up from the pole barn to the road. I had a set of V style chains for my old 4 wheels rear tires that sort of kind of fit on the front tires of my tractor. They worked like a charm, but they were sloppy and the inevitable happened. One got thrown from the tire and I didn't notice it. It ended up in my blower. Several hours later, the tractor was up and running again minus a set of chains.Found these on Amazon and the price certainly was right. I was skeptical however that these would bite and dig the same as the V style chains. But the chains were hard as hell on my paved driveway, so while they were on I avoided doing the driveway properly. I cleaned it out enough, but left quite a lot of snow to keep the chains from gouging. I didn't know how these would work in the lawn, but I figured they would be a heck of a lot better for my driveway. They didn't have to be awesome in the lawn, they just needed to give me enough extra grip to move up the slope, even if it was not pretty. To my surprise, these things were much MUCH better than I expected them to be in the lawn. The preformed admirably on the tractor and in particularly tough places, turns out they will DIG too. No more problems with the driveway either. These were put on the front tires obviously as they don't make a set large enough for the rear. And they were put on a tractor much heavier than what they were intended for and were subjected to stress that no lawn tractor could hope to replicate. That said, these are showing signs of wear after one season. Wear that you might expect to see after several seasons on a lawn tractor. But for the price, I don't see how you can go wrong. They really made a night and day improvement on my sub compact. I am considering trying to replace straps as needed by cutting new ones out of an old tire. Depending on how much of a pain that is, I may just suck it up and buy a new set every 2 or 3 seasons.I can tell you from experience on difficult terrain, that these things work and they work well. They are a good price, they are good for your paved driveway and they are suitable for a sub compact even if the life span is probably cut down to 2-3 seasons. This is just a good deal.
