for those not aware of how range calibration scopes work, they take a second focal plane scope, and use the zoom feature to scale the reticle up and down. instead of 2x, 3x, 4x, etc on the scope zoom adjustment they have fps marks that get you close. then you adjust from there. then once that is done, you never touch the zoom again. unfortunately, you are rarely exactly at a labeled fps mark. sand this scope has no way to lock it into place, which seems like an obviously crucial feature. so i had to scratch a mark into the zoom adjuster so when i inevitably bump the zoom, i can set it back to where it needs to go.(this is the sole reason for my not so great review score. for the premium price they ask for this scope, it should have this feature) i received this scope as part of a xbow package, so i did not buy it here, or anywhere else, separately. for that i am glad... had i purchased it separately, i probably would have returned it for something else.the rest of this review are tips to others... the 20 yard setting stays set to 20 no matter what the zoom, so sight in at 20 yards, set your approximate fps, move to 50, shoot, and instead of adjusting the elevation, adjust the "fps/zoom" till it is right. the 20 yard marker will stay the same at all "fps/zoom" settings.another tip... if you have a bow at the low end of this fps range(380fps), you will have to zoom out to make the reticle bigger, so the result will be fixed power of the scope will be 2x. conversely if you have a bow at the high end of the fps range(505fps), it will end up being a fixed 7x scope. so keep that in mind.
