The remote control app is great and add to the value compared with other ball machine manufacturers. The battery appears to be great so far. I've used the machine about 10 times. There are a few querky things. It seems to shut down if you start off at too much extreme settings on speed and spin. The manual control button is good EXCEPT that you can't know exactly where you are on the elevation angle. You just have to look at the rollers carefully and kind of guess how close the machine is to max up or max down. One specification I believe is truly not accurate; that is, the speed range. I have a speed gun and under the most generous setting - max speed and balanced top and back spin, the highest speed I measured was 71 mph and that was an aberration. Most of the max speed readings I measured were approximately 65 mph. So, I believe the manufacturer specs that state speed is adjustable up to 84 mph are clearly false. I have considered asking for some kind of reduction in price because I believe that is a significant deficiency. However other than that, I find the machine performs well for the price as compared with the other two machines brands I have used. The price seemed to be going up almost weekly. I saw it for 1399, then soon it was 1499, and then I ended up paying 1599.

I am a HUGE tennis fan and have been playing for years. I've owned 5 tennis ball machines in my life from Prince, Silent Partner, Tennis Tutor, and Lobster. This one, however, has truly blown me away.I use a tennis ball machine quite a bit for practice and fitness. I play competitively, but it's not always easy to find someone to just practice with. For that, a ball machine is an ideal practice partner because it can control a lot of variables like consistency that you'd miss when playing with a partner (as they have to be pretty good to feed you the same shot over and over). The downside for most machines are as follows.1. Expensive2. Noisy3. Heavy / Big4. Complicated to Control5. PredictableI am absolutely stunned to say that this machine outperforms all of my previous machines in every category by far.1. Price - Tennis ball machines are expensive. There's no way around it. It's not a price gouge, it's the fact that the motor needs to be a certain strength and the component parts are not something that are widely used in any other type of industry. This is a niche product, so for something that's operating at a competitive level of performance, you're going to be starting at this price at least just for reliability's sake. This one, is probably the best value for features I've ever seen. It's staggeringly feature-packed. It has features that you can't find in machines that cost almost twice as much.2. Noisy - My Lobster Elite Grand V is one of the best machines you can get on the market. It does almost everything well. This machine, however, is SIGNIFICANTLY quieter than my Lobster. Granted, my lobster has several years of use in it, but the motors inside, the oscillator, and the internal ball feed mechanism inside the TENSMA are literally whisper quiet.3. Weight / Size - Here again, the TENSMA meets or beats my Lobster. Weight wise, they're all going to be heavy and that's totally fine given that you don't want it to be easily damaged by getting hit with balls or in travel. The motors and battery simply are going to weigh a certain amount, so there's not much you can do about that.Ounce for ounce, however, the TENSMA is lighter than the Lobster and it has a MUCH smaller footprint. The TENSMA is almost perfectly square, so it's super easy to store in a garage and it's incredibly compact so it'll fit in almost any trunk. The Lobster, by comparison, is very long and is an odd shape. Whereas the handle on the TENSMA telescopes and tucks away when in storage mode, the Lobster's handle folds across the unit, making it awkard and hard to store. For size, portability, and weight, the TENSMA beats the Lobster yet again.Additionally, the wheels on the TENSMA are larger and more robust than my Lobster. The wheels on the TENSMA are large enough that when you're carting the machine up a stairs or curbs as you enter your tennis courts, they protect the body of the machine. The wheels on the lobster, are more "under" the machine and aren't positioned all the way at the back. So, every time I take it up stairs, it scratches the unit with each step.Good design overall by TENSMA to position the wheels to accommodate stairs and curbs.4. Controls - Here, I'd say it's a draw. There's going to be a learning curve with any machine that does more than just oscillate and go faster or slower. Both the Lobster and the TENSMA offer you a profound amount of control and both offer the ability to control them via a remote or app. The TENSMA includes the app control as a standard feature whereas it's a significant price upgrade on the Lobster. The Lobster, however, has touch controls on the unit itself meaning you don't HAVE to have the remote to use it. The TENSMA, however, has no on-unit controls whatsoever other than the power button. I doubt there would be a time where you wouldn't have a phone nearby, but it's surprising that there are NO buttons whatsoever on the unit. I really wish it at least had basic functionality like speed, spin, oscillate, 2 line, etc, even if they left the complicated programming and customization to the app.For the price, the TENSMA blows the Lobster out of the water. The amount of customization you can accomplish on the app is amazing, but it's not super easy to learn how to use the app. It's a lot of trial an error. Once you get it going, it's fabulous, but it does take some effort.Lobster has the advantage on controls and UI design, but TENSMA is over $1000 less, so I'm willing to learn their app for that. One issue I noticed is that the app control is not available on the Google Play app store. It's only available from their site. If you have concerns about installing 3rd party apps, I could understand why you might be hesitant on that. That will be completely up to you to decide. I haven't had any issues and my security software checked it out and passed it. The Apple version is available from their official store, but just keep that in mind.5. Predictability - This is where the TENSMA shines better than almost any machine on the market. ALL tennis ball machines, with the exception of the Spinfire, are somewhat predictable. The best thing about the Lobster was that it had a truly random setting that would vary the speed, spin, height, and placement of each shot to mimic real game play. The problem, however, was that you could simply watch the machine turn left and right to know generally where it was going to shoot the ball. With the TENSMA, however, it has an incredible internal oscillator that conceals the location of the ball completely. Even in broad daylight, I cannot see the wheels at all making even a basic 2 line drill much more interesting and challenging as the machine does not telegraph where the shot is going.Ounce for ounce, point for point, the TENSMA is simply outperforming my Lobster Elite Grand V in every area.I forgot to mention that the battery life on the TENSMA is mind boggling. It outlasts my Lobster by hours! After a month of solid testing, I've decided that I like it so much, I'm going to sell my Lobster and keep the TENSMA for good.My only concern is that because it's a new company, I do wonder what support and repair will look like long term. This model seems to be available under several different names, so I'm hopeful that it will be a common enough form factor to be able to source replacement parts in the future if necessary. For the time being, I'm willing to take the risk as I'm just so happy with it.I wholeheartedly recommend it!
