I have owned one patio umbrella before & was disappointed in how easy they try to blow away & how they can fade or lose their ability to stay in the desired position so that you can sit directly under it & not be folded into it as it collapses. So, with that said, I'm really impressed with this design & how sturdy it is. I love the color, it's fun but most importantly it shades the area that I'm trying to shade, which is my shade plants that have been scorched in the sun & my sitting area. It's huge! I am so happy with this umbrella, I can't say enough good things about it. So easy to put up & it actually stays in place & we've had a few windy days so it can handle wind. One thing that will help is to get a very durable, heavy-duty base. I have one that's on wheels & is filled with water. Hoping that this umbrella holds up & doesn't fade. Will post updates.Update: The umbrella went through its first real storm. I lowered it just in case the wind was too much but I left it in the base, folded. It was fine & didn't loosen & after the storm was over in a few days I put it back in the open position. I think the crank works great but I'm very gentle with it so it doesn't detach or come off track on the inside. That's the only thing that worries me about it. So far, so good. I think it's going to last. Oh & no mildew after all the rain, so that's good to know. Highly recommend.

This is a fantastic umbrella. Itโs rugged and well built and the color is so much fun. All theneighborhoods have tan colored umbrellas in their yards, but this one is bright and simply stands out. It was a Motherโs Day present and at first we thought the color might be too much but itโs not a common color and goes with everything. Itโs not easy to find this particular but of course my go to place, Amazon had it.It was well packed and arrived quickly. Easy to operate and provides great coverage from the sun. Highly recommend and the price is amazing for a product of such quality.

As soon as I opened the box I liked the umbrella. Still waited for the end of a season to see how it works. Works very well indeed! Very easy to assemble, very easy to open and close, relatively easy to tilt (the button based tilting system requires some effort), and does not yet have any visible damage from the sun or rain. The manual honestly says the material is expected to stay as is for a couple of years, then it will fade: this is what happened to my previous umbrella, also polyester based. I like the honesty. And I like the price, by the way.Now, the base has to be bought separately, but I already had one. It is standard size, fits smoothly.Update a year later. The umbrella worked better than its price would imply. I have had it staying outside without a cover all this time, under New England snow and rain and wind and sun, and i cannot detect any visible fading of the color. (A few reviews did mention fadng was an issue, so take it into account.)I have stupidly broken the umbrella by having left it open before a storm, and during the storm it flew away from my patio and took the glass table with it. The heavy umbrella base broke apart (!) and the glass shattered into a million of tiny pieces, quite spectacular actually. One or several pieces of the glass tore a hole in the fabric, and the weight of it all broke one of the spokes into two pieces. Because it happened at the end of the season, I decided to reassemble the umbrella and used it several more times on warmer days in the fall. Then it stayed up all winter as I mentioned earlier. Today I am replacing it with the new one, the same type. Let's see how it holds up!
