Bought for scouring an old sword hilt. Works acceptably well, except the brushes dissolve in fairly short order, throwing bits of wire everywhere. Definitely wear eye protection!

I needed brass rotary brushes, but couldn't find the name brand in stores. Discontinued? Who knows. These do shed bristles more easily than the name brand did. They go flying all over when they do. I usually work with a magnifying lamp above my work so that stops them from hitting my face, but even so make sure you were eye protection.

This first paragraph reviews the brass flats. I'm preparing an aluminum lower intake manifold for reinstallation. These small brass brushes do the trick where my larger brushes can't fit. I carefully scraped the bulk of old gasket material off with a razor blade, then removed the remaining by buffing it with these (and larger brass brushes). There's no doubt these things lose bristles, even at low speeds - but so do the Dremel branded brushes. Honestly, I'd be hard pressed to detect any difference. These brushes represent a fantastic value. The manifold looks near new for reinstallation. This paragraph reviews the carbon steel flats. I next prepared the gasket surfaces of the cylinder heads. Here, the gasket material seemed more difficult to remove than on the manifold itself. Again, I began by carefully using a razor blade, then removed excess oil by wiping down the surfaces with a rag dampened with brake cleaner. With my Dremel at low speed, I used the carbon flats to remove the remaining stubborn gasket material. The loss of wires was negligible - there is no doubt these are superior to the comparable Dremel product (with which I have extensive experience). Thank you Temo for these high quality, reasonably priced products!

Arrival was very quick and the brushes, used for cleaning coins, are perfect.

I was sitting one night watching television and wondering, "how can I cover the front half of my body with tiny needles that will be undetectable until hours or days later when I bump into something or take a shower?" These cupped wire brushes answered that question! First off, they're cup brushes that become disc brushes once you spin them up to 1000 RPM. They don't maintain their shape AT ALL. So I thought, I'll just hold them against the work surface before I turn the tool on. Nope. Still flatten out. Great, so I'll just make do by using them as disc wheels. Nope. Within seconds they threw multiple needles. And as we all know, once the first few go, the clamping pressure reduces and the rest are quick to follow. Now, I'm as "frugal" as they come and thought, "meh, most of these bad reviews are probably from hobby-types who don't do automotive work with their tools and are too sensitive. Listen to me and understand... THESE ARE WORTHLESS. I bought 10. I used the first one on a piston-decarb job for 20 seconds and thought it was a fluke. Loaded a second one, same thing. 3 days later I'm still pulling needles out of everywhere, including the worst spots you can think of. Treat this review as if it was you yourself traveling back in time to warn yourself not to skimp to try and save a few bucks. I literally threw the final 8 in the trash and I'm so cheap I once made them turn the house lights on a place where the other half dances with little covering because I dropped a quarter and couldn't find it. I lied to the DJ and said I dropped a contact lens. And that is a TRUE story, not just me trying to be funny for a review, even though at the time I was messing with the staff at said establishment. DO NOT buy these. Feed your money into a roaring fire; at least the heat you feel will serve a purpose.

Showed up on time, look as advertised. Do NOT run these on high speed, but LOW speed. They will span out and fray, and shoot crap into your eyes and face on high speed dremel. Live and learn, use on LOW speed or they will HURT you and those around you, as well mess up what you are working on. Remember, they are garbage but work, and high speed will spin them out and become micro fiber metal darts to your eyes, face, hands, people, things, etc.

Sorry to take so long to response. Had to go to the Hospital Hilton for a while. Product is pretty good. Not what the "Name Brands" have but dollar VS product, this is the way to go. The nylon seems to be a bit finer so it wears a little faster and one has to turn up the RPM a bit to compensate. It wears a little faster but, as I said, Dollar VS Dollar, this is the way to go.

I used these for the first time yesterday to clean up some spots on some stainless steel cookware that oven cleaner wouldn't touch and to remove some deeply embedded rust from a pair of pliers. Everything worked out perfectly. I used a Dremel at 15,000 - 20,000 RPM and the wire wheel didn't loose too many strands. I've used both the Dremel and Temo wheels successfully. The Temo seems to have a coarser wheel (thicker wire). I tried using higher than 20,000 RPM and lost more brush strands than I would have with the Dremel, but this was an experiment, I usually don't use a wire wheel at that speed. For the about $0.80 a brush it's a good deal.

I go through bags of these as I use the soft (but slightly stiff) nylon bristles to gently scrub dirt from rock and fossil specimens. Using a rotary tool makes quick work of the task and gets into tiny spaces better than I could do with a toothbrush, etc.I only wish they were sold in slightly higher quantities (say, 25 per bag) as I go through them quite quickly. I think the useful life of the brush is reasonable, though I wish they would last about 10 to 15% longer (wear life is impacted by the abrasiveness of the material, with certain limestone and sandstone wearing them down more quickly than some of the harder materials). Vendor delivery time has always been good and I don't believe I've ever received any that were damaged or defective.
