Works perfectly, it’s way better than just sitting your chicken on a beer can.

I’ve purchased two of these one for myself and one for a friend. I’ve cooked one whole chicken along with veggies in the bottom of the pan. They turned out delicious.

In the photos, one shows the turkey early on in the smoking process. It just barely fit in my smoker, but that was enough. The second photo shows after the turkey and the internal smoke pipe have been removed, allowing the juices to show as well as the smoked root vegetables (multi-colored beets and mutli-colored carrots). You can't get this blending of flavors if you use just a rack - that won't hold the juices. One note - the interior column doesn't seal with the base, so the liquid just goes up to the top of that inner circle. I used a smokey-flavored beer from a local microbrewery and the flavor with the turkey was fantastic. I did pour extra beer in the pan.

We used to make beer can chicken with the real beer can then kind of realized it's probably filled with toxic chemicals from the actual beer can itself. I used to have a ceramic one that I used for years till it broke. I like that you can put anything inside the 'cone" to help the flavor of the chicken.

These are heavy weight pans that are easy to assemble and work great in our traeger. They are pretty difficult to clean, though. Each time we’ve used them they get harder to clean and now have a few permanent spots. That doesn’t affect their use, though - they work perfectly.

It’s made of good stainless steel and it’s a good size. However, two problems: doesn’t hold the beer/liquid inside the middle part , juices or food gets stuck under the middle cup and can’t be completely cleaned out.

It was a little scary the first chicken I cooked on this but was rewarded with a very moist, tender chicken with veggies around the base. Was a little unsure about standing the bird up like that but after putting broth and a bit of cooking wine in the center and inserting the cylinder, the bird did quite well and was pretty secure. I did spray the base of the cooker with olive oil to help with clean up, but turned out that it was very easy to wash after cooking the bird. And was plenty of drippings to create gravy right in the pan so was a total win-win in my opinion.. I think if anyone really enjoys moist, tender chicken, with crispy skin, than this is definitely the pan to create it.
