I installed this in my attic over a year ago, and so far this antenna has been incredibly reliable. I have one station that I struggled with other antennas to get, but this has had no issues in the year it's been installed.Putting it together was pretty easy, it all is latches and clips that are sturdy but can come back apart should you need to move it. The antenna when fully assembled is quite large, at least 18 inches tall and 24 inches long. Being able to remove larger panels from it to fit it into my attic was a very handy feature. The weight isn't too bad, it's easy to move with one person and (save for wind or ice loading), only needs a few screws to hold securely. The built-in pre-amplifier has enough power to push signal through a 50 foot cable run to the basement, through a conventional un-powered splitter, and back through another 35+ feet to TV sets without any issues. It picks up the local market, a distant station that it's pointed at (55 miles) with no issues. Depending on the weather it can also get an out of market station (75 miles) and stations from other parts of the state (150+ miles). The TVs also will detect transmitters closer to 200 miles away, though I've never had actual signal, just enough to detect something there.Even the station 55+ miles away, this antenna has had no issues picking it up in all kinds of weather. The only signal issues I've had are related to very active lightning storms where nearby strikes cause some artifacts. Compared to the overpriced antenna it replaced, the difference is amazing.

Had issues with my first purchase and had to return and reorder. Of course, the price went up in those few days! The unit itself, once assembled, is well built and strong, not flimsy/cheap.That said, the reception... I had a small omni directional antenna before this one. This one has better reception yes, but drop several channels. So on one hand the channels that come in are stronger, I've loss other channels. Also, as with any directional antenna, pointing it at exactly the right angle is critical and being off just by a few degrees can truly impact reception. Try multiple location and angles to get the best reception. At the end of the day, I'm not truly sure it is worth the premium price.

This product came with extremely good instructions and required no tools to assemble out of the box. Of course you will need tools to mount it and ground it properly. I am in SE Michigan and I can get full signal on all the local channels, Windsor Ontario, and many Toledo stations! All in all 88 stations off the air.The tech at Televes gave me very good advice on how to aim this. Since I live rather close local stations, I can actually receive them full strength off the back of the antenna. So depending where you live, if you have stations 180 degrees of each other, you may be able to point this towards weaker stations and get both. This antenna has powered amplifier that can work without power that does vhf and uhf separately. So it only boosts what you need. The amplifier power source is through the coax in the house. So if it does die, there is no need to climb the roof.Downside of this antenna is because it’s powered you cannot put multiple antennas in line with it. I originally wanted to tie in a FM antenna, but not possible. This antenna filters all FM and 4G signals out.I mounted the on the Channel Master J Pole mount. Which seems rather sturdy. However I’m sure there’s a lot of good stuff out there. When it comes to antennas, especially with modern-day DTV signals which are line of sight, the saying “height is might” is generally true. Finally if you want to ground this antenna properly, go to your local home improvement store. A 5/8” 8ft copper cladd grounding rod was $18. Much cheaper than Amazon.

I have this antenna installed in my attic (see photo). It allows me to receive, in perfect clarity, all the stations from the two major markets nearby (Hartford, CT and Springfield, MA).For a more complete and technical review of this antenna, go to The Antenna Man on YouTube. For assembly, Televes has videos available online. I suggest you watch them a few times to know what you will be doing. I found assembly to be very simple, with easy to follow instructions, especially after watching the video. Make sure the antenna will fit where you intend to place it, and assemble it nearby where you plan to install it. It can be a bit awkward to move around one you put it together. The powered amp / filter works great. Because my antennna is in the attic and my TVs are downstairs on the first floor and in the basement I have a longer cable run, and a split (100ft, then split to 25 feet and 50 feet). Due to the amplifier I have no issues with a strong signal reaching either TV. One TV has an ATSC 3.0 tuner and those stations are also crystal clear. The powered amp / filer has two OUT terminals, so I have another cable feeding an HDHomeRun (the Quad, with two ATSC 1.0 and two ATSC 3.0 tuners) that also receives a very strong signal. I now get over the air TV to any PC, phone, or tablet in the house from the Televes.I am very happy with this purchase. I think it will work exactly as expected for many years to come.If you are thinking about an antenna for your home, think very hard about this one. It is packed with excellent electronics and is of excellent build quality.

I have this Televes Ellipse 148883 mounted high in my attic. 30 miles from my metro antenna farm. Some hills and tall pine trees as obstructions. I am using it with two TV's currently. I get more channels than my prior antenna, which was the budget rotating 150 mile motorized one you can easily find here. Channels that my tv's couldn't display at all are now clearly received, and ones that were seemingly fringe and had digital artifacts on the screen are now clear. I have one tv hooked up to perhaps 50 feet of coaxial to the antenna and the other hundreds of feet (down from attic to basement distribution box and back up to family room). The closer one scanned 102 channels and the farther one, which is a newer tv, pulls in 105. (my TV market has around 140 channels potentially available, second in the nation in total channels)The build quality of this Televes antenna is excellent. It is very robust and well-designed. Everything fit together beautifully and without any issues. It is quite compact as antennas go, even when fully assembled. The instructions are clear, and there are numerous videos available on the internet showing the assembly. It is more expensive than some options, but Televes has redesigned this antenna for current DTV frequencies in the USA and it is capable of filtering out ever-increasing 5G interference. In my opinion. they have hit it out of the park with this one.
