I just wanted to point at things for a while and the interest wore of, as pointers go its okay but I probably wont need this ever.... no plans for this in the future.

I actually ordered this for an oddly-specific purpose: to adjust (by poking) the swiveling wide-angle tiny rearview blindspot mirror that's attached to the passenger side mirror of my car, while sitting in the driver's seat. The pointer is sturdier and heavier than I expected, which is nice. It has a nice red plastic tip and is easy to extend and collapse, and it collapses nice and small. It would definitely work well in its normal role as a pointing stick for teaching or demonstrating.

As a teacher with some images in my classroom near my tall ceiling, I have been looking for an extra long pointer that wasn't just silver - this is it! Up until now, I've been pointing out the images with a yard stick, but it (and I) is just a bit too short to get to all the parts I want to highlight for my students. I have looked for longer pointers (I don't want a laser one) but all the ones I could find were simply silver, making the pointer tip harder to see from a distance. This one is extra long AND has a bright red tip! Love it!
