These are made of a quality white plaster/clay material with cork bottom. They truly don't allow condensation through, and they are pretty! We got them because other coasters we had didn't prevent a cup of hot tea from ruining the finish of an old bedstand, and these are insulated and about 1/4 inch thick. They come with an elegant black metal holder to keep them organized when not in use. Highly recommend for utility and cuteness!

I live in the South and have to deal with condensation on glasses, leaking onto wood surfaces. These attractive, sea-life, coasters absorb moisture and protect my dining and coffee tables from waterdamage. They would also be a good "house" gift for friends. The nice rack holds all 8 of them in an orderly stack. Plus, there are 8 coasters while many other sets are only 6.
