I have a torn tendon on my right knee along with a brokenanklefrom a slip and fall. Waiting to see if I need surgery. I purchased this knee brace for some stability. It's amazing. Really brings down the pain. Easy to put on. It wraps around the knee so i don't have to pull it up over my broken ankle. Bendable but strong and it is adjustable.

I was looking for braces that I didn't have to pull up over my calves/legs because it's a pain when I have pants on. Also for smaller ones than the big black ugly ones that I got from my ortho doctor. These are nice so far, they are easy to fit to your leg, and the straps hold up to motion very well. I put them on and did yard work, which entailed a lot of bending and walking around. They held up fine, no gapping or loosening of the straps, and since they don't cover as much of the leg as the others do, they were really comfortable as far as that goes. They supported my knees perfectly, I didn't have any pain or tired feeling from them.I have arthritis in my knees, no injury or anything like that, so I need just support around the kneecap. These fit the bill very well, and the color is neutral, which is also something I want.I'd recommend these to anyone who wants a decent brace for doing moderate activity. They appear to be very durable, so I'm hoping that I will get plenty of use out of them. Any changes and I will update my review.

I've decided to give the TechWare Pro Knee Brace size XXL a five-star review only because I don't have any other brace to compare this one to. I have been having pain and weakness in my knee off and on for the better part of four years. I have tried countless OTC creams and medicines. Icy Hot with Lidocaine pain relieving cream combined with 4 Ibuprofen would last the longest, about two-three hours, before my knees would stiffen up again. I even purchased KT Tape. This product was somewhat helpful, but not quite good enough. I had been wanting to purchase a brace to see if it would help. But, it's almost impossible to find one in my size. I tried using "Ace Bandages" to wrap my knee. But, as soon as I would start to walk, the bandage would roll down no matter how I wrapped it my knee. Or, I would wrap too tight and the pain from the pressure would be worse than my knee pain. Fast forward to about two weeks ago when I found this product. I measured my lower thigh and knee. And, found the the XXL would be the right fit...I hoped. The first day I wore this brace, it was tight! But, it held my knee in a more stable position. I actually was able to get out of the car (putting all my weight on my bad knee) with a lot less effort than the day before! As I walked, I could feel the brace holding my knee in place, which was what it should be doing on its own instead of arching outward. After three or four days of wearing the knee brace (6:00am-6:00pm) I felt like I could get up from a seated position a bit faster with less pain! Not totally pain free, just better than before. And, it began to occur to me that my excruciating ankle pain wasn't actually killing me. I just hurt a little. I guess that when you walk improperly for a long time, other things start hurt and become weak because you'r whole body is out of balance. Who knew? And, the other thing I found out was that my other knee was sore. I only noticed it because I wasn't hyper focused on my "bad knee" any more! I think there is a second TechWare Pro Knee Brace purchase in my future.... As far as the stiffness of the brace when I first put it on, that lessened as I wore the brace more and more. It's kind of like breaking in a new pair of shoes. The brace fabric relaxed a bit, which made it fit much better. The velcro is super strong, too! So, there is no "peeling up" of the support bands. Also, there is a rubber grip strip on the top and bottom of the inside of the brace that keeps it from slipping. After wearing the brace all day, sitting different positions, and walking around, I find that the brace does move slightly after about 4 hours. But, you have to take into consideration how much your muscles flex when you move around and if you are perspiring, etc. Those factors would affect any kind of support you were wearing. And, It only takes a quick readjustment to get it back into place. So, for now, the brace has exceeded my expectations. Hopefully, over time, my knees, ankles, and back will heal so I can function normally with no pain.

Where do I begin?Very well constructed. It's made from quality materials and the attention to detail with regard to its features is excellent. It works. My kneecap doesn't shift around when I walk (use it for exercise walks and dog walking)...that occasional "niggle" of pain is gone. It's comfortable. When walking, I forget there's anything there (except for the absence of pain). The Velcro tabs don't stick out and look lumpy under my jeans. This was an unexpected bonus. It's easy to put on...my other adjustable ones always seemed to need more fiddling with to get just right. It doesn't bunch up while I'm walking...like some of the other non-adjustable ones used to do.It fits just right...it doesn't mind that my upper knee area is a bit...ahem...more developed than it should be. Ahhh....the fit....feels good.I'm glad a bought a back-up for when I wash it and it needs to dry before wearing again. I'd hate to have to substitute one of the old ones for those days.UPDATE: Three months later (wearing once a day for a 4 mile walk), the Velcro no longer sticks to the fuzzy fabric. No matter how much I bend my knee before affixing, it pulls apart the minute I start to walk (and, no, I don't walk funny). Why can't this manufacturer use Velcro for both sides of the attachment? Fuzzy stuff just doesn't hold up. [Iron-on Velcro won't hold on the fuzzy and it's too hard for me to get a needle through...I was so hoping I could fix this.]My search continues...I won't bother buying another one of these at this price.UPDATE 2 (same day as update 1): I added in one of the stars I'd deducted. TechWare contacted me without my asking...and offered a replacement for the support I'd just trashed and potentially a replacement for the second support I'd purchased at the same time as that one...which I just started using this morning and so can't evaluate it. Great customer service deserves a star of its own. Thanks, Ted!UPDATE 3: The second one I'd bought is not showing any signs of Velcro inadequacy. I'm thinking I just got a funky one the first time. Thanks, again, Ted!!!UPDATE 4: All of mine started showing signs of weak Velcro....definitely not a heavy duty version of the stuff. BUT If you otherwise like this one as much as I do, get yourself some Handy Bands (Amor Imports) to secure the knee brace straps. They work wonderfully and will extend the life of your knee brace.
