The Team Wendy helmets are the Cadillac of back country helmets for the SAR member. It fits comfortably and is not heavy. The design allows for numerous modifications to fit whatever type of terrain or conditions you work under. Our team purchased the Fenix SAR headlight, which mounts to the helmet using an adapter that Team Wendy created.I have been a SAR member for 23 years and this is hands down the best piece of search gear I own.

Purchased this helmet for use while exploring abandoned mines (probably the smartest thing I’ve done related to this). I wear an XL or XXL hat, and this adjusted perfectly for me. I wear this helmet with a Fenix headlamp with an external battery pack and a GoPro. Even when I wear this helmet for 4-6 hours at a time with that extra weight I find it to be comfortable to wear for prolonged periods of time. Purchased another one for my wife, and hers fits comfortably as well for her. Lots of cheaper alternatives out there, but I figure my head is worth spending money on. Had already paid for itself from me smacking my head on lots of rocks, definitely protects well and didn’t even rattle me. Being bright green it gives me the look of a professional, and will make my body easier to find when my luck inevitably runs out!

This is one of the best rated SAR helmets out there. It has a long list of standards that it meets (or exceeds), it's multifuncional (climbing, rescue, ropes, water, etc.) and its SUPER comfortable. I've worn it during training, for 4-6 hours without any issues. The extra pads let you adjust the vertical fit (plus provide more/less padding, whatever your preference might be). The BOA adjustment system is robust and super easy to use. The one drawback is the lack of attachment options for front-facing headlamps and the fact that the moment you attach a headlamp to it, you basically have to keep the (optional) visor down permanently. I wish they also had more side mounting options for lights.

Love this helmet. I named her Wendy. Used it for HazMat Tech, and often forgot it was there. Reliable, light, comfortable, adjustable, multipurpose, and professional. Purchased a go-pro mount separately and get amazing footage with it. Will be using it for swift water rescue so unless it fails during that, this is a must have for anyone looking to get into USAR.

Best helmet I’ve used. Tried DLP and Kong. Nothing compares to this helmet. Fit and construction are top notch. Have used the nvg mount more than I thought for rescue with either go pro for training or light mount for nighttime missions. Wish this helmet used an ARC rail though. Easier to find mounting solutions with ARC as you will be locked down to team Wendy products and when used with peltors you can’t use a rail with them

I recieved this as a Christmas gift from my wife. Pros super great fit very comfortable. Can't wait to use on first SAR mission. Cons none found. Would and will recommend to anyone in the SAR community.
