The Taylor 480BZ is an 8.5” metal dial thermometer with easy to read Font. The thermometer is made of anodized aluminum & glass with a decorative Copper Pointer. Overall it is a good thermometer. The copper arm broke from the wind flexing it over four years. I wish the mounting arm was stronger.

TAYLOR used to be an excellent thermometer company. This is not made from copper but a junk metal. I have only had this for 1.5 years and it is corroded and ghastly to look at. The only redeeming feature is it does keep the accurate temperature. I don’t want this site to have access to my photos but they reflect a white, corrosive something eating the metal. Unsightly.

Should be listed as "single use" as it breaks within a few days. Ours went to 100 degrees on a 60 degree day and now is all over the place.

This is a beautiful thermometer, but it has two screws and washers on the back, but one screw won't screw in, because there is nothing to screw into - fortunately I have a handiman who will find a bigger screw and make it work. AND as I've read in other reviews, there are three holes and 3 washers for mounting but only TWO short screws so we will find three longer screws. I was very disappointed that I'd spent $40 for a thermometer to have these problems. I kept trying and finally could see inside there was nothing to screw into, just open space. I'm rarely disappointed in Amazon orders, but rather than return we'll work it out.
