I use this to weigh out hay for a couple of our therapeutic riding center's horses, who have become, how shall I say, FAT. It was easy to tare in order to account for the hay bag's weight. I tested it with a couple of objects for which the weight is known, and it was accurate.

I use it for weighing packs before big hikes. Holds a 70lb pack just fine. Hooks are well made and the readout is large. No idea if it's really accurate.

Works well as indoor scale however we tried to use this as a produce scale in our barn and the humidity from being outside caused the paper backing with the numerical scale marks deformed causing it to contact the wt marking arrow. Not sure if this would cause accuracy issues but we opted to go with a different scale for our purpose. This likely wont be an issue if you use this scale in climate controlled areas. Great solid scale other than this specific use issue.

I purchased the scale to accurately weigh out yard fertilizer’s etc that I could hang in the garage. This scale is easy to used, by simply adding a “S” hook to the bottom of the scale and using a bucket to weigh out the yard products. In the photo I have placed a 5 lb weight in a bucket, (the bucket is plastic and weighs less than a lb) and it shows the weigh of 5 lb.

The storage platform hanging from my garage ceiling has a weight limit, so I keep this Taylor scale right there to weigh anything I add to the platform. The scale is easy to use and evidently accurate. To check the accuracy, I hung an item of known weight from it and found the scale was on the mark.With no digital readout and no batteries to change (or leak), this scale represents a vintage technology that remains, I believe, as useful as ever.

I’ve been using this scale for about 6 weeks now to weigh my 20# LPG cylinders which will range between 18 and 40 pounds, depending upon how much LPG is in the cylinder being weighed. My use is midway of the operating range of the scale and the scale delivers accurate readings repeatedly.

Got this to weigh buckets of feed for my horses. easy to just hang in the shed. Sturdy. Bit hard to read, but not too bad.
