This thing is WAY better than I expected. We had a Roomba vacuum years ago and weren’t too happy with it. Fast forward to 10 years later and now we have a golden retriever. Anyone with a golden retriever knows the amount of fur they shed. I was vacuuming just about every day. We decided it was time to give a robot vacuum another shot. I looked around and found this option. We didnt wanna pay $1000 for a high end vacuum, so this one was appealing right off the bat. I was impressed with all the features so I bought it.After a few days of use and tinkering around in the app, I’m extremely impressed. This thing is SMART. It’s also super quiet if you’re not using the stronger modes. I opted for the self emptying version because, you know, golden retriever, and it works great. It’s pretty loud when it’s emptying but that only lasts maybe 10-15 seconds.Highly recommend this thing and definitely worth the cost.

Muy eficiente, lo único del diseño que no me gusta es que la bandeja de basura y agua se encuentra del lado del contacto de carga eléctrica.

This is my third vacuum bot and the first one that actually works reasonably well, The app is decent and shows the bot location and the cleaning path.I wish it dealt better with hair though and that is why I removed a star. I had to clean hair off the main brush already. The docking station uses bags and honestly I don’t mind. They are cheap to replace and means there is no dust to deal with when emptying the dock. Super easy to deal with.I have been using it two months now so time will tell how well it holds up…

I've had this for a few days and did my first run with it. I previously used Shark and iRobot. This Tapo vac is better than both of them. It provides more efficient mapping and cleaning. One problem is that it did abort cleaning due to a "stuck brush" twice on the first run (but not subsequently), though the brush did not appear to have a problem, just a couple of hairs to be removed. Nonetheless, everything else worked well. The setup is a snap. The LiDAR navigation and mapping technology with this unit is amazing, too, so I recommend LiDAR as an effective approach for a vacuum's navigation. I was totally stunned to watch the mapping process in action, because the LiDAR scans and maps most of the entire visible area of a room in just a few seconds. The vac then goes out and does some scouting to refine rooms' edges for the map. Unlike some other brands, this Tapo vacuums each room, one room at a time. In other words, it finishes a room before going to the next room. I like that, because I understand where the vac is going to go. For each room, it seems to start with the room's perimeter, and then covers the entire interior systematically. It didn't miss any spots, and it was impressive in working around furniture legs, climbing over (and cleaning) barstool bases, and the like.My iRobot had numerous troubles connecting to my phone, and the vac's navigation seemed slow and inefficient. With Tapo, it's better, and you have a lot of features in the app, too-- can spot clean, easily specify a room to clean, easily alter the map, etc. The app is simple and functional.I set up the room dividers and carpet definitions in just a few minutes. I had a bit of trouble editing the carpet setting that I had created, but I eventually figured it out.Mopping worked surprisingly well. Attaching the mop unit and adding water to the tank are simple. The mop left the floors nice and clean, avoiding the carpet as expected. Removing and cleaning the mop are fast and easy. The Tapo base is nice and small, and works without a hitch. The suction power is important on these vacuums. Tapo's low setting seemed to be ineffective-- was leaving behind dirt and particles-- so I set the suction to "turbo" (power level #3 of 4). That works so far.Battery power has been very good on this device, better than iRobot's. For bedroom, living room, kitchen, hallway, and closet, not even half of the battery was used. I then also did a complete mop run of the floor areas on the same battery charge.Another great feature of Tapo is the voice from the vac that tells you about important events or notifications. It is easy to understand, in your own language. You don't have to refer to a manual to find out what a display of blinking lights means. The notifications also appear in text in the app at the same time. While the vac was running, I was able to pause it easily by pressing a button in the app or on the vac device itself. It paused immediately and reported that it had paused. In summary, TP-Link has figured out the key details to make this robotic vacuum device work well, and it's user-friendly. I recommend it.

I researched and compared many brands of robot vacuums. I knew I wanted one that self emptied, but was largely unsure if a mop was a necessity. I’ve used it twice now for vacuuming and once for mopping and I’m super impressed.Set up was easy and fast. The mapping feature is top notch on the app and the vacuum goes around the edge of each room before proceeding in straight lines across the room, soothing my OCD. It cleans well enough for daily pick ups to keep the tidiness of the floors up. I think my expectations of the mopping function were too high, but again it will do the job of keeping the floors tidy and clean. Overall functions great and I love it more than I even thought. With 3 kids and 2 cats, this is definitely a game changer in keeping the house and my sanity in order.

This guy is quieter than our old Roomba, cleans at least as well, and mops the floors to boot. I was skeptical when I paid about 1/3 the price of our 2 year old Roomba. I thought the Tapo was all hype and would really be a disappointment. I was wrong. This thing is awesome and it's better in every way. The app is soo much more functional and configurable than the Roomba. I love that it can be customized in a ton of ways. The old Roomba was pretty much just on or off. Yes, you could modify the map of the house, but there were no settings for *how* it cleans. The Tapo changes that, and there's tons of options for cleaning performance. Overall, very pleased. Especially considering the price. Overall I give it an A+.
