This is a decent bit for the money, nice crisp, clean lines for engraving, wood and other things. I’m sure I’ve only used it on the wood, but it’s a very tight profile for lettering. I recommend it.

I do a bit of wood carving but retired from a LONNNNNNNG history with machining steel. So, of course, I thought to myself "oh yeah... gotta get me one of those to rip thru some hapless basswood! Since receiving this and my Kutzall Flame Burr (extra funky for quick wood removal) these are the ONLY two I bits use. Using the edge of this bit I can get a SMOOOOTH surface on basswood (nature's fuzziest wood) and for detailing, the tip of this bit CANNOT be beat - especially undercutting. Feeling froggy, I went after a piece of ash wood (baseball bat material).... gnnnnnnnnr! ZING! Right into the wood, no questions asked. I love, adore and cherish this bit, and may have to move to Alabama so I can marry it.

Using this as a mold-making mill, since the taper allows it to make molds with built-in draft without "stair-stepping". For that, it's just what I needed.

My observations taking the bit out of the packaging: It looked to be a good quality tapered ball nose end mill. The small 1mm tip diameter should yield fine detail and the taper will make the bit stiffer and stronger than if it were a straight bit. The tradeoff for the taper is the 4 degrees limits the vertical cutting to 86 degrees instead of 90. This is usually not a problem with 3d carving and is almost expected. If it were a straight (not tapered bit) it would be very fragile. If my design had 90 degree surfaces I would use a straight ball nose bit ( probably larger diameter)I wanted to push the bit hard so I did a test cut using a piece of cherry hardwood, I skipped the rough pass and ran it faster than I usually do. The bit did a very good job as can be seen in the picture. The horizontal lines in the final were from my CNC not the bit. While it was cutting there was some chatter caused by the fill depth cut at a higher speed than I should have been using and limitations of my CNC.Picture shows the carve, the quarter is 3.25 inch diameter, the carve max depth was 0.22 inches (5.6mm) with a .1mm step over (.004 inch). I usually do a rough pass with a straight bit before using a ball nose bit to limit the depth of cut but intentionally skipped this step to push the bit. It did great carving hardwood with very aggressive depth and speed.Overall good bit for the money.

I was most impressed with this carbide bit. I was using with a trim router to do some engraving on wood. It was very nice to use. The geometry of allowed me to get higher detail but still put enough depth in the wood that was easier to see the engraving. I felt very little resistance as I even went through the hardwood like walnut oak and cherry. I have not used this too much as of yet but was most impressed with my first impressions. I will most definitely be buying more of these bits to expand my ability to engrave on wood.

This is for the 1mm flat tipped V tool for molds. It is cutting aluminum on my diy cnc beautifully.

I got this for doing lettering on receivers and it works great on aluminum, with no signs of wear yet. I have a lot of Sharpro bits and they have all been a joy to use. It comes with a cutter protector and a square box that will stay put on your bench too.Love it!

These millends are good quality and do well for my projects I mill on my CNC. I would recommend them and will update on the life of the bits once I run more projects.
