These are intended for bedrail fastening to headboards.The metal is lightweight stamped steel, not stainless. You may wish to spray them with a clear poly. Mine began to rust almost immediately.Under normal use these will probably be fine. I question their use in a child's room where kids may be jumping and playing on beds which may spread the bent steel enough for the fasteners to fail.JZ in Marietta GA
