The device is solidly made and feels sturdy. There are directions included that list what all the buttons are for and also include a table of the modulator channels allocation. It seems like it should work well! I did have to do some googling of the terms in the directions, which is why I gave it 4 stars, as I wished the instructions were more detailed. Otherwise it's a great product!

When I received it looked brand new, even though I had purchased something that was used. it came with instructions, but I thought they were poorly written, no matter what I tried it did not work. When I hooked it up and tried to tune into a channel that I specified, let’s say channel 10, when I go to channel 10 on my DVR my DVR says channel 10 doesn’t exist. Apparently, that does not have an output of a digital channel. It is an only analog channel and I guess my DVR doesn’t accept analog channels. Quite disappointing would’ve been nice if it’s specifies whether this is an analog channel or a digital channel.

It doesn't include an antenna, which sort of seems odd since it's an RF device.The instructions are okay, but written by someone who clearly doesn't speak English and does not seem to understand how to communicate some of the most important aspects of this system, like how to configure it for the different TV regions of PAL and NTSC.If you live in the USA, then use the mode button to browse to AU, then figure out rest on your own. Obviously the system will now be in NTSC mode and you should be able to interact with channels for this region. If you're into PAL then do the same thing but select any other setting than the one you just had to figure out on your own.See how annoying that is?I'd give it a 4 or 5 if the manual writer would have spent some time caring enough about their product to just get an English speaker to QC the instructions.

Though the box it came in is marked as NTSC and the model number, inside there's no hint to what type it is. Unfortunately it is stuck in PAL mode, though it's supposed to work both signals . The Mode switch which is not label as such , but as CATV/TV/AU, which is confusing, only shows from C1-C4 and AU. spent hours playing with it to no avail. Furthermore when I set it to channel 57 in C4 it displayed on one TV channel 14 and in another 65, which makes no sense. Under C4 Channel 57 the video shows, but is incompatible with NTSC and only shows very bright black and white video. If I adjust the video bright to lower, then the picture disappeared. Could not contact seller for instructions and then I returned it. Either the Mode switch is defective or the wrong item was placed in the box.

It works. Only needed to try a few settings and the old RCA tube screen came back to life connected to the new Rogers Ignite style set-top boxes. No qualms!

Using this in combination with a powered amplified indoor antenna to watch video on some old handheld TVs (Watchman, Casio) and it works brilliantly!

This is an excellent RF modulator for old analog TVs. I particularly like the added flexibility of being able to adjust the RF, Video, and RF levels and being able to set the output channel number. I also wanted both RCA composite video and HDMI inputs. This worked flawlessly on both. When no signals are present on the HDMI port, the device presents color bars (when the input switch is set to HDMI). Note that this modulator is not intended for multiple adjacent channels. If you use more than one of these, you'll need to leave a blank channel in between.

This does exactly what it says it will do. I only want to give you guys a heads up. I have an 1988 floor model zenith and I had to set the modulator to channel 99 and the TV to channel 1. So you might have to finger around but I can assure you, it will work.
