Tandy has a habit of selling incomplete, unfinished, or unpolished tools.There’s no shaft for this. You have to make your own or order it separate.They may be the oldest Leather tooling and Leather crafting company in the country, but they’re still a bit chinchy.

I really struggle with getting a good, clear impression with this stamp. It's very faint. Originally, I could hardly get the flower to show up at all. No matter which thickness or color leather I used or how wet I got it before standing, no matter how hard or how many times I hit the stamp with my mallet, the best I could get was a shallow outline. My roommate eventually suggested using a clamp and a couple pieces of wood to press the stamp into the leather as hard as I could, which actually left a really good impression, but was impossible to accurately measure and place the stamp on my project. But it convinced me that a decent impression COULD be achieved with this stamp, and I upped my game. Took some practice and tweaking, but I eventually learned that if I use a HEAVY carpenters mallet and really pound the stamp ontop of a concrete floor (the hardest surface I have access to), it comes out alright. All in all, it's a decent stamp, but you've really got to work for it.
