The Tactiko Wire Trip Alarm is an excellent early warning security device, designed to offer peace of mind for campers, property owners, and anyone looking for an added layer of protection against potential threats. This alarm system features a robust 80ft Kevlar wire, a loud 129dB siren, and the flexibility of both solar and cable charging. With an IP55 waterproof rating, it's built to withstand various weather conditions and be reused time and time again.Pros:1. **Loud and Effective Alert**: The 129dB siren is incredibly loud, ensuring that you’ll hear the alarm from a significant distance. Whether you're camping in the wilderness, securing your property, or using it as a bear deterrent, this alarm provides a clear and immediate alert to any potential intruders or threats.2. **80ft Kevlar Wire**: The long 80ft Kevlar wire gives you plenty of flexibility in setting up the perimeter. It’s durable, resistant to wear and tear, and provides an impressive range for establishing a security zone. The wire is also lightweight and easy to deploy, making it ideal for setting up quickly in various environments.3. **Dual Charging Options (Solar & Cable)**: The versatility of both solar and cable charging ensures that the device can stay operational even in remote areas without access to traditional power sources. The solar charging feature is especially useful for long-term use during camping trips, as it can keep the alarm powered without requiring frequent recharging via cables.4. **IP55 Waterproof Rating**: The weatherproof design makes this alarm perfect for outdoor use in various environmental conditions. Whether you're dealing with rain, dust, or dirt, the alarm can handle the elements without issue. This makes it reliable for camping, hiking, or securing outdoor property, even in unpredictable weather.5. **Reusable and Practical**: Unlike one-time use alarms, the Tactiko Wire Trip Alarm is reusable, making it a long-term investment. It’s easy to reset and reuse after each deployment, providing continuous protection for multiple trips or long-term security needs.6. **Bear & Wildlife Deterrent**: For campers or those in areas prone to wildlife encounters, this alarm is an excellent deterrent. The loud noise can effectively scare off bears, coyotes, and other animals that might pose a threat, helping to keep your campsite or property safe.Cons:1. **Battery Life**: While the dual charging options are convenient, the solar charging might not be enough to keep the alarm powered in areas with limited sunlight. In such cases, relying on cable charging might be necessary, especially for extended trips.2. **Setup Time**: While the setup process isn’t complicated, some users may find that it takes a bit of time to properly install the wire and set up the alarm. It requires a bit of patience, especially if you need to stretch the wire over a large area or set it up in challenging terrain. I'm fastening with zip ties it to spare tent stakes to use as bear deterrent in my campground.### Overall:The Tactiko Wire Trip Alarm is a reliable, loud, and practical security system for anyone looking to secure their property or camping site from intruders or wildlife. The combination of durable Kevlar wire, a loud 129dB alarm, and flexible charging options makes it an excellent investment for outdoor enthusiasts, property owners, or anyone seeking peace of mind. Whether you're trying to keep bears at bay or deter unwanted visitors, this alarm system provides a strong, reusable, and weatherproof solution that will enhance your security setup.

This tripwire alarm is pretty versatile and a cool piece of tech for a good value. The solar panel and rechargeable battery are a welcome feature on units like these. The 80ft kevlar wire is tough and tiny. The 80ft length is impressive. One or a couple of these will cordon off a large multi-tent camp site with a very comfortable perimeter cushion. The alarm sound is a siren sound and is loud enough to get attention probably 100-150ft ft in the day to around 300ft-400ft on a still night. The magnet holding the wire to the alarm unit is a bit strong - so for small game or cats and raccoons it's probably not great. For larger animals like coyotes, bobcats, bears, etc, I can see it working nicely if set in a good spot at a good height. Also very useful to mount on a gate or door somewhere low or unseen for added security. The alarm will be loud enough at night to hear going off in your suburban sideyard and will definitely deter potential yard pirates. Solid second line of defense.Last thing I like is the spool and mount for the wire has simple small phillips screws to open it and remount the wire if it breaks, and since it's just tied to the metal magnet loop you can easily replace the whole wire if you want. You don't really even need the spool, you could use your own wire or fishing line or something if you want it transparent. If I had any criticism I'd maybe want a few different sounds to cycle through or something but that's not enough to dock a star over.

Nice devise that works well for camping. I wish it were a little more heavy duty but it does work well.

I got this for remote van camping - can it prevent bad things from happening? No, but it's alarming enough to possibly scare off an intruder, so...maybe? It should be enough to alert you that someone has entered your perimeter, and you can handle it from there should they choose to hang around. Not sure if the one I received is just defective, but it says you press the metal circle down to pull the string out, but that doesn't seem to work for me - I have to stick the included allen wrench in the little hole while pushing down, and spin it counter clockwise, then I'm able to pull a length of string out equal to the amount cranked. It can take a while. I got quite a bit pulled out, and continued to try the press and pull they describe in the instructions, to no avail. Once you have the desired length of string pulled out, you attach the round magnetic metal end to the siren, the other end to something else (tree, pole etc.), keeping the string taught, then turn the power switch on. Once something trips the string, the magnetic metal piece is pulled away, and the siren will sound. Not the loudest thing in the world, but should be alarming enough to scare off intruders and annoy fellow campers. A fairly clever person could probably add a bigger, external speaker with a little handiwork...I'm just sayin ;) Winding the string back up is a bit easier, but again you need the wrench, just crank clockwise. Honestly, you probably don't even really need this whole mechanism, just attach the end to a different string, but this keeps everything tidy and neat. Also, the siren unit can be recharged by USB, or the built in solar panel. Overall good, but trying to extend the string is a bit tedious.UPDATE: The string stopped dispensing - it was stuck, even when I cranked it with the allen wrench, so I took the assembly apart - the string was tangled up, caught on the spool on the inside - I straightened it out, and now it is working properly - it wasn't too difficult - a few screws and a few springs, just put everything back where it belongs and you'll be fine. I have now added a star, as it is working properly.
