This device is a really great concept. When you want ready access to information on your cell phone, this can be invaluable. Especially if you need map information or real time team dynamics like with the ATAK app. The uses for this carrier are virtually endless. The chest holder itself is made from thick durable plastic which certainly appears like it will take a lot of abuse. The hinge, which looks removable by a screw and nut, is molded in to the rear panel and wraps around a steel pivot that spans yoke molded into the front panel. Very strong. Both panels are mostly rigid, but do have a little flex so they’re not brittle at all. The front panel has rectangular openings which, from what I read, are meant to provide a clear line of sight for the camera lens of a phone. I am guessing that it is meant for Android lenses. My iPhone 12 with an Otterbox Defender case fit perfectly in the holder but my camera was mostly blocked. This is an easy fix, however, by just cutting a small slot away to clear the way. The front plate also has velcro adhered to both sides of the panel. The outside, “loop” portion has obvious usefulness but I could not figure out how you might use the “hook” portion on the inside where it is covered by the phone. If it were another loop half, then maybe I could see using it to store another patch, or maybe to stick a map to when the phone is out. I just wish there was a picture or something to show what they intended it for. It always drives me crazy when manufacturers build what might be a cool feature into their products but don’t bother telling anybody what it’s for.The silicone bands that hold the phone in place are also outstanding. They are super strong and secured to the front plate by a system of slots that allows them to potentially be replaced. The plastic straps on the rear allow the unit to be easily secured through MOLLE loops on the plate carrier, binocular pouch or anything that have that loop system. Finally, elastic cordage hooked into the back of the rear plate is laced through a hard plastic latch, which effectively hooks into slots molded into the outside face of the front plate. This not only holds it securely closed, but is also very easy to break free to gain fast access.All-in-all, I think this is an extremely fantastic and useful piece of kit for any operator or hobbyist. I just wish they had this kind of stuff when I was in the Infantry.

This mounts up perfectly to pals/molle gear without any issues whatsoever. I currently (subject to change) have mine mounted to the front of my triple mag pouch and it sits perfectly flush with the top of the pouch. The molle straps are super simple to use and there is no "lacing" involved. The silicone straps hold my iPhone 13 with zero wiggle room or play. The hinge is tension adjustable and I tightened it up a bit from the factory setting and it holds whatever angle I set it at when viewing the phone. The color is also spot on and blends perfectly with my multicam setup. This is phone holder isn't flimsy or cheap feeling at all and it's a great value. Two thumbs up and I would definitely recommend it.
