Add this to my 1522+ to get 2.5gb connectivity. Super easy to install and works perfectly. A bit on the pricey side since this is all proprietary etc., but it works provides much faster speeds than 1gb

Works awesome. Took forever to arrive. Not sure why these things are so hard to get but it was worth the wait. My files are flying to and from my NAS now faster than most directly connected USB 3 hard drives. Highly recommend.

This was a good upgrade for my new NAS, allowing me to directly connect it to my 10GbE iMac (with static IP addresses on a separate network). Definitely betters the performance over the NAS's default 1GbE (hint: use the Jumbo (9000) MTU frames for the 10Gbase-T speed).Fortunately my CalDigit TS3 Plus was able to pick up the slack of not having to do anything except configure it to do all the 1GbE networking (via a separate ethernet cable) on my everyday MacOS. On the rare occasions when I revert to Mojave though, the TS3 Plus I have now (a replacement for an older one that failed after several years), doesn't support that option so it just uses the iMac's wi-fi. Both perform similarly in my situation so no big deal, though I do prefer hard-wired if at all possible.

Yeah, they have you as a captive audience once you have your Synology NAS. If you want something faster than the gigabit NICs in your NAS (923+ in my case), then this is it. My entire network hasn't been upgraded to 2.5Gbps yet, but it's about half done, and when doing transfers between assets in that upgraded part of the network, I'm definitely hitting consistent speeds over 2Gbps.Install is simple, remove the blank plate that is held on with two screws, then put the new NIC in there and use those two screws to fasten it down. Done! In the NAS software, if you plan on keeping at least one other NIC connected in addition to the new one, go into your network settings and make sure you select the new one as your primary.

I purchased this to improve speeds of making (and restoring) backups, and it works! With SSDs and 10Gb devices at both ends, I was able to get at 1.5-2.0 Gb/s. Potentially a limit of my SSDs, but a very welcome improvement over my gigabit network. Even with spinning drives on both ends I could break gigabit speeds. It was easy to install (Philips screwdriver needed), and required no configuration on my Synology.

Not sure why Synology doesn't just include 10 Gb ethernet by default, but this is absolutely worth it if you have a 2.5 or 10 Gb network in your house. Any NAS that has an SSD cache or multiple drives in a RAID will be able to easily saturate a regular 1 Gb ethernet connection. Install this, and you'll notice much faster transfer speeds, especially on reads. If you're not using at least 2.5 Gb ethernet for your NAS, you're missing out on the full bandwidth of your storage. And there's no point in bothering with an SSD cache if you only have 1 Gb ethernet; the spinning rust disks can keep up with that no problem.

TL;DR: Speedy, simple to install, perfect for 1522+, early arrival, pricey, missed initial setup timing, dazzled by 10gbe speeds.Like a knight in shining armor, this gadget swooped in, delivering just the boost my 1522+ needed. Installation was a breeze – it's like this piece of tech was just waiting to click into place, no fuss, no muss. And the speed? It's like jumping from a bicycle to a sports car. The 10gbe speeds are nothing short of exhilarating. But let's address the elephant in the room – the price tag. It's like paying for a gourmet meal when you're used to fast food prices. Yes, it's worth it, but your wallet might need a moment to recover.Adding a twist to the tale, it played hard to get, arriving fashionably late and missing the grand debut at the initial setup. It's like having the perfect dance partner show up after the first few songs.Despite the late entry and the dent in my finances, this upgrade is a game-changer. It's the kind of tech leap that makes you wonder how you ever managed without it. For anyone looking to turbocharge their 1522+, this is your golden ticket – just brace yourself for the price and maybe a bit of a wait.

This upgrade is good value for the money and works out of the box. It was easy to install! Basically, two screws. My transfers are much faster now using Unifi 5 port 10gbe switch for both Mac and PC. Very pleased with this upgrade!
