This is compatible with Mac OS which was not clearly stated in the directions or in the product description. Part of the problem I had was that the scanner doesn't do well in low light/not bright light (I had to hold a flashlight next to it in addition to room lighting), so it wasn't reading the barcodes from the directions properly. It will beep if it does register a barcode.I suggest setting up using the dongle (wireless) directions (page 8), but you need to scan initialization settings barcode first (page 7) then scan the two for dongle pairing. This got me up and running quickly and I used this along with Libib to catalog my personal library.Hope this helps others because the directions are not clear. Totally worth $14.

I got this to scan my books so I could have a record of my physical library, and the ability to just scan them into a program turned a very tedious task into on that took less than an hour. there was a slight learning curve to figure out what program to use, as this is literally just the scanner but once I did there was no issue.

Set up with the dongle to do initial testing. Great results, right off the bat. It read even glossy paper codes easily.examples:B098XBTLJJ1807904X00363AE7XScanner immediately recognized when changed to USB cable.ExampleB098XBTLJJX00363AE7X1807904scanner is quick to recognize and print codes, even at a large angle off of straight. Worked at angles I did not expect based on past performance with other (professional) bar code readers.Really nice, and a great price point. Just need to remember to have your cursor active in the files you want the scan to print in, as it works just like your keyboard, only super fast.

I like the sleek design of this hand held wireless scanner. I got it for scanning food items in my deep freezer so I stop double buying stuff. My son and I use it to play grocery store with though. Its very easy to set up and comes with a cable and wireless dongle to plug into a computer. I use this scanner with my windows 10 laptop. This laptop is the one we play games on. All and all I am satisfied with this scanner.

When I took it out of the box it has no protective plastic film on the screen or lens and small scratches and smudges on the display. So I know this is a return. It seems to work ok for the most part. I tried it out on a bunch of barcode test sites on the internet and got about a 75% success rate scanning various 1D and 2D barcodes. Would not scan maxi-codes. Not sure yet to keep it or send it back.Update:Will not scan GS1 Data Stacked Barcodes

Has to be the simplest setup I have experienced, but still it out performs many of the more expensive versions I've tried. The fact that it can scan a code on a screen makes it worth the price alone.
