Night and day difference for waxing -- total game changer!
Even better than you’d think it would be!

Pretty solid iron for the price. Would most likely be 10-20$ less if it wasn’t Swix. Does the job fine.My only gripe is that I wish the temp dial was more protected - I find myself bumping it, when I am really in the ski tuning zone, with my finger and it moves the dial.

The SWIX T77 Economy Waxing Iron is an excellent choice for beginners. It’s easy to use, reliable, and comes at an affordable price. If you’re just starting out, I recommend skipping the full waxing kits and buying the waxing iron separately. For scraping, I use my daughter’s large triangle ruler, which works just fine. You can purchase wax from EVO, and that’s really all you need as a beginner. This simple setup is more than enough to get you started. Overall, the SWIX T77 is a great value for those new to ski or snowboard maintenance.

This Wax Iron has been with us for 9 years now and it has held up very well. We wax our skis about 4 times a year, and it does the job. The iron heats up quickly and melts nicely on the skis. Obviously, you want to keep moving the iron as you go down the wax so you don't put an immense amount of heat in one spot.

Appears to work as intended, the temperature is easy to control and the iron glides smoothly.

This product was defective. The light comes on indicating that it is heating, and goes out almost immediately. It will not heat past 55 degrees Celcius as measured by my infrared thermometer. Also, beware that Amazon is not an authorized distributor for this product. The problem occurred when I opened this product outside of my Amazon return window. Amazon advised me to contact the manufacturer and they told me the will not help with any products purchased from Amazon

Works really well, the base is nice and big and it heats up super quick. The stand built into the back is really convenient because when you're done you can stand the iron up so it can radiate heat away without cooking the electronics, so this will last longer than a normal wintersports iron.My only gripe is the dial being built inside the handle, it's tough to look at and set but it also means you're not going to bump the dial when you're putting on wax and vaporize your wax rather than melt it.

I read lots of reviews about irons before purchasing this one. I'm pleased to say It works really well having just waxed my snowboard. It is small and light enough to carry in your back pack so when you get the hotel or condo you can do your waxing. Some people complained that other irons don't show whether the numbers are in deg C or deg F. This one clearly shows they are in deg C and the instructions include a conversion table. I like that the power chord moves through 90 deg where it connects to the body and also the bevel edge at the rear of the iron to make it easer to lift off you board if there is any suction when waxing.

I am a recreational skier and I like to wax my own skis. This iron does a great job melting wax and spreading it along the ski. The dial indicates the temperature and the iron warms up in a few minutes. There are plenty of instructional videos on YouTube showing the wax application and scraping technique and these helped. In addition to a scraper and wax, one other thing I bought is a $10 OXO heat proof silicone pad so I can set the iron down safely. There are specialized metal iron holders for about $40 but this is roughly the cost of the iron and the silicone pad is actually easier to use and les expensive.
