This looks identical to the Polaris brand we had for years. Although we don’t use it often, we attached it to both the pole and the hose just to check the fittings. It fit perfectly. Sometimes you need these things and the price was fantastic for a very nice product.

We used to have a different type of vacuum that had bristles and NO WHEELS which I thought it was better bc at the same time you are brushing the pool. With time the bristles were coming off and for some reason it was extremely hard to vacuum. It will continue to have a powerful suck that it was hard to move/slide the vacuum inside the pool. With this vacuum type, it has been WAY MORE EASIER! The wheels make vacuum easier and it does not get stuck to the floor. We take way less time vacuuming the pool. I do recommend.

I have only used this item once, but it worked great and sucked up all the debris in the pool . I will be using it again as needed.

I have been taking care of a pool now for the better part of 30 years so this is not my first rodeo. We are installing a new inground pool so I purchased this item primarily because of the generally positive reviews. On my first and final attempt at using this vac head, I was tempted to just toss it in the trash can. My major complaint is that it is too light to stay flat on the bottom of the pool. With the crappy spring attached, the back of the sweeper lifted on each return stroke unless you apply downward pressure on the pole. I removed the spring to see how that worked and then it was impossible to keep the front of the sweeper on the bottom during the forward strokes. The second issue is that the spout where you push on the hose is slightly too small for a 1 1/2" hose. The hose came off the vac head multiple times which is a real pain in the A$$. So my advice is to look a little longer and pay a little more for a high quality vac head. I bought a Pentair Rainbow head and it is a much better alternative to this for about $10 more.

I needed something to clean leaves and debris from the bottom of the pool after high winds. Decided against those battery operated units as most reviews say they don't last. The Hydro Tool connects to a 1 1/2 inch pool vacuum hose that in turn connects to the skimmer. Works great and is easy to use. I have no problem with it staying on the bottom of the pool most of the time. Once in a while I apply light pressure to get it to stay down. I would buy again.

I have had it for more than a year now and it is working well. The last one had its tube used to attach the pole break and this one will break as well. I wish it was stronger in that area.

Well made and solid pool vacuum head. It will pick up most debris on the first pass, I have noticed that occasionally leaves don't get sucked up, but a quick return of the head to the spot will pick them up.minus one star for the spring used in the pole handle, I find that the spring is a bit too strong and the head will lift off the bottom of the pool unless a firm amount of downward force is applied to the pool utility pole.
